A good, basic hotel in central
A good, basic hotel in central Christchurch, very close to Cathedral Square, etc. Breakfast sounded rather over-priced for what was on offer. Good local breakfast places, though - and excellent value dinner (half-price on stone-cooked dishes between 5 and 6pm) at The Tap Room, just round the corner.

Most of the staff were very friendly
Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, only let down by a waiter who was making it very plain that the breakfast customers were a nuisance; this happened both mornings! The city view room was very comfortable and we would happily stay again.
