Situated in the most fantastic central city location next to the Arts Centre & Botanical Gardens. The extensive range of accommodation is low cost and you will be impressed by the high standards of presentation. From Standard Rooms with share bathroom, Deluxe Rooms with own bathroom, to Apartments with full kitchen facilities, the YMCA caters for all needs & budgets. The YMCA Christchurch offers free on-site parking. All guests have access to extensive on-site facilities for a small additional fee. These include fax & internet, gymnasium, sport climbing wall, laundry room & conference room. The hotel also offers reception.

Christchurch YMCA

Very good location and friendly staff. Kitchen is small but adequate. Rooms are clean and nice. Enjoyed my stay and will highly recommend to my friends.

Good

It was good, and a great value. the location was the best part. I'd heard that it wasn't very clean, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. The staff members were all extremely helpful and courteous.

For the budget-minded

We booked the family room. It had a double and single bed and was ensuite. Nothing fancy but provided a place to sleep with access to a kitchen on a lower floor. Robert Harris Cafe on site. Reasonable weekly cost for Internet service. TV in room. We had a free earthquake ... 3.6.

Not like other YMCA

My previous experience with a YMCA was horrific (for USD$80 I got the tiniest -and not the cleanest- of rooms in NY) so I was a bit wary abut this one... However it turned out to be a pretty good choice, decently priced, with spacious rooms, a great location and clean and functioning shared facilities.

great location

great value for your money , easy to get to all the necessary places in town and just across the road from the Botanical gardens. Just a great place to stay while in Christchurch

YMCA is rather conveniently located,

YMCA is rather conveniently located, room r basic n clean but the shared kitchen is really a mess.. nobody seems to wash after they have used it. Well if u r not bother by the kitchen than is a pleasant place to stay n staff are helpful too.. I did enjoy my stay and return 2wks later after touring the south island for another day before i depart christchurch

Stayed on the student floor, very

Stayed on the student floor, very noisy until late at night, bathrooms and room slightly tired looking. Great location and parking.

Friendly staff, clean rooms with

Friendly staff, clean rooms with efficient heater and electric blankets. Central location and easy walk to town. Clean bathrooms. Would stay again. Don't know if hairdryer available. Take your own tea and coffee - none supplied.

For the price, the cleanliness

For the price, the cleanliness and the friendliness - not to mention the beautiful view over the park and university - i wouldn't stay anywhere else in Christchurch.
