Expensive but nice
Hotel was expensive, but clean and neat and the room was big. Bed comfortable. My only complaint was that the breakfast buffet was $25 per person and it was not worth even $10. I was disappointed in the selection and felt it was way over priced. Free Internet, but you had to leave your room go across the hotel and up a flight of stairs to get the signal. That was annoying. Upon check out they tried to stick us with another charge that they said was some tax, which I refused to pay. They had our money for 4 months, the room was prepaid, they had no business charging a tax at the end. They didn't argue too much and took it off. Pleasant hotel otherwise and it was located nicely. Close to shopping and a short walk to the pier where the tours took place. A short walk to the sky needle too. We had no need to take a cab to get around as the hotel is really centrally located to all the main attractions. Auckland is awesome, I'm going back.

Nice stay in comfortable and clean
Nice stay in comfortable and clean quiet room. The TV in the room was rather small & old compared to comparitive hotel quality

Yet again the hotel was just fabulous,
Yet again the hotel was just fabulous, with very good service. The room was clean and very well maintained, and the bed was huge and comfy. It's a five minute stroll to anything you could need, which is great. The only very minor niggle is that there was a wait for breakfast and the food was not really 5 star, but it was totally okay and wouldn't prevent me going back at all. Overall, a wonderful stay.

The hotel was excellent, the location
The hotel was excellent, the location was perfect, the room was great. We had a package including breakfast and valet parking which was very good value for money. The staff were all very friendly, the Concierge, Nu, was very helpful and we had a lovely dinner in the Thai restaurant. Would choose the Stamford again.

What a lovely hotel. We had to
What a lovely hotel. We had to take our child with us at the last moment, and they accommodated us with a cot, an upgrade to a suite fora nominal fee, and a later check out - so very helpful. The suite was magnificent, as was breakfast. I can't wait to go there again!
