Great location and staff
I returned to book my last night in Auckland here because the staff are dependable and very nice and the location is easy to get around where I wanted to go. Some of the rooms are older and have a smell that will air out once the window is open, however the rooms are very clean. There is free wifi for 20 min a day and a computer kiosk to pay and use for longer periods of time ($2/15 min).

Clean comfortable room. Yes it might be a little small and the shower doesn't rate too well but value for money it was excellent. Quiet location, free carparking - next time we have a function to attend in Auckland we will stay here.

The Parnell area is central and
The Parnell area is central and very safe. great cafe just up the road about 100m. The room was small but comfortable but no air conditioning - it was humid and had to rely on a fan which was a noisy. Room service was very good - ordered some food which arrived quickly and was just the snack we needed. Made use of the swimming pool - not many chairs and they were wooden and uncomfortable. We got a great price for what we received.

What a great stay! These guys
What a great stay! These guys are so nice, there wasnt enough they couldve done for myself and two children. It was excellent value for money, we must have had the best deal in Auckland with parking, breakfast, extra person and even a voucher for dinner which was yummy. The hotel is a little older in style but the location across from the beautiful rose gardens and the service made it 5 Star!! Keep up the good work Kingsgate Parnell.

The room was quite adequate for our requirements, but I made a local telephone call, and was charged a huge amount for it. I don't think this is very good policy. Local calls are free in every other hotel I have stayed in, so although I wouldn't have objected to a small connection fee, charging local calls by the minute is outrageous. Otherwise, the staff were friendly, and very courteous. I think it may be a case of travellers beware when making telephone calls.
