The hotel location is perfect for travelers who plan to walk or use the public transportation system. (We did not have a car so I am unable to comment on parking.) It is halfway up the block from Queen St. on a hill. Auckland is hilly, so plan for that if you are on foot. It is close to tons of restaurants and pubs. There are ATM's all over. A small convenience store literally four steps from the front door. A grocery store within 4 blocks. We had a small kitchenette area (microwave, fridge, sink). There is noise, but you have to expect that when you are plunked down in the middle of a major metropolitan area. The room was large. The building and furnishings were a little worn out and tired, but clean (except the windows-all very dirty). The staff was helpful. I had booked a room with two twin beds and checked into a room with one queen. The front desk quickly had housekeeping bring us a rollaway and we were all set. The TV and remote drove us crazy. Never figured out if it was the batteries in the remote or just the system itself, but since we were out most of the time, no big deal. The hotel did not have a plug transformer for my curling iron to step down the power but they did have a plug converter for us to use for our phone charger. All in all it was a pleasant stay and I would stay there again.

Definitely check out the info pamphlet rack in the lobby and locate any sort of booklet with coupons and discounts for tours and attractions. We found one and saved 50% on the SkyCity Tower admission. If there is not one in the hotel lobby, keep your eyes open at other locations.

It's located very close the Queen
It's located very close the Queen Street where the heart of Auckland is. The only problem with my stay in this hotel is the parking lot is limited and very small space. You must be an expert to park your car or you may get scratched easily. The hotel also required you to BOOK car park lot which cost you NZ15 per night.

We booked two twin rooms and were
We booked two twin rooms and were given 1 twin and 1 triple as we had a child travelling with us. Luckily we were able to obtain a car park @ NZ$15 per day as we didn't know reservation was needed. Surprised that the room comes with microwave and good stock of cups/plates. The staff at the reception were very helpful. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Overall, a good experience
Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely return to the hotel.Value for money, great location and rooms were clean and comfortable. The bad part was the noise from the street at ungodly hours. My room was on the first floor but I guess this is out of bounds from the hotel's end. Bearable though.Also, I must say that I did not feel welcome at the reception. Service was not up to standard and staffs were unfriendly and not helpful.Having said this, I would like to compliment one manager, [...]. He's the only one who is friendly, sincere and helpful with the guests.

Front of hotel faces the bungy
Front of hotel faces the bungy jump and a night club is less than a block away. Night club was broadcasting music into street until about 5 AM. This may have been special occasion for a Thursday night because no music heard on Friday night. If possible ask for room facing the rear side.
