Base Auckland Rooms

AG Hawai
Decent room, but theft issues
A friend and I stayed at the Base Auckland hostel for three nights. We had our own twin ensuite. The room was pretty nice for a hostel. Beds were a little older, but ok. It was nice to have our own mini fridge. Unfortunately, we did have theft issues. Someone stole my friend's iPhone, and also my entire carry on suitcase. What a terrible way to end our vacation. The staff did apologize and ultimately refunded our stay; however, the contents of my suitcase were worth much more monetarily and sentimentally. The hostel did have flyers that a thief was operating in the hostel, and to secure your valuables, but I would never have imagined them stealing an entire suitcase. So disappointing. Other than that major issue, accommodation was ok. Elevators are old and didn't always work right. One girl got stuck while we were there.

A two night stay and pleasant
A two night stay and pleasant enough. Some noise but it was over Friday and Saturday nights. Helpful when I asked for towels which I had not realised were not included.
