The Amora Hotel Auckland (formerly the Duxton Hotel) overlooks Myers Park and is within walking distance to the central business district and many top attractions. Most of the numerous Amora Hotel Auckland guest rooms feature balconies, full kitchens and laundry facilities. Guests can dine at the Grill or eat on the terrace adjacent to the outdoor pool. Take in a quick workout at the on-site gym or pop across the street for something more extensive at the YMCA. The property has three meeting rooms, accommodating up to 120 people.

The Duxton was looking a little

The Duxton was looking a little tired.....and when I enquired about accessing a message on my phone, the girl at reception said she didn't know how! It was good value at [website] prices but certainly not 5 star or worth the usual price. Location fantastic....

We have booked a few times using this website and we will always choose this hotel if it's available on a good deal especially in comparision to others at a similar price. Really friendly staff, rooms are always great, especially the spa room which you can quite often get on a good deal.Not far from Queen St either.

Although we did have a slight

Although we did have a slight hiccup when we signed in, our stay was very memorable, as always. Not only did we get a great bargain with pricing, but the staff were very professional and well presented. The room in comparison other hotels with more stars.

Poorly organised. Arrived at 13:00

Poorly organised. Arrived at 13:00 but no room available, then assigned one that hadn't been cleaned. Finally allocated a room and the receptionist provided chocolates to alleviate the inconvenience. Asked for the AMEX phone number in Auckland and the male receptionist had to Google it and couldn't locate it. Generally the hotel is OK and the service is adequate but it would appear to me that the staff need to go on training courses on hotel management and service. Internet access is way too expensive.

Classy hotel with 5 star room.

Classy hotel with 5 star room. Really!. Even has kitchenette and combo clothes washer/dryer. Modern decor, king bed, crispy linen. Not on airbus route and up a hill from the main street makes it isolated. No "Transfer" arrangement offered. At top of hill are strip clubs, porn shops, noisy hoons in cars. Also ambulance station and fire station. Did hear a few sirens in the distance but more interesting from our room-balcony, shut door and is quiet. Good dinner and breakfast but not cheap cheap. Not hideously expensive. I booked 3 rooms and my 2 married friends went back after our cruise. They are very conservative so it says a lot.
