Airport Garden Inn Hotel & Conference Centre

Had a late flight in and couldn't get to where we stayed. Shuttle picked us up and dropped us back off to get where we needed. Room was clean and staff was excellent. Great place to stay for a quick rest

People were very nice, but the rooms were not. Perfect price and place to just catch their free shuttle from the airport and get some rest after a long flight from the U.S. but staying any longer than that first night is unsatisfactory. We had holes in the wall in our room and the walls weren't very thick anyway, so we heard almost everything in the adjacent rooms.

Great hotel for a fast stay but nothing special otherwise.

I was just there for a few hours...in late out early for flight back to US. Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was comfortable - and that is the ONLY THING that matters when staying away from home.

We stayed 3 nights, had dinner twice in the restaurant which had very good food. Swimming pool is not usable during winter months. They had slot machines a bar and a pool table for 2 dollars a game. The advertised activity director did not exist. But the staff was helpful with a free shuttle to airport and beyond. Only 3 channels on the TV.

The hotel has clean rooms, all on the ground floor. The staff is courteous and helpful. The downsides are: (i) relative isolation in a suburb settings without any elementary shopping availability; (ii) Lobby has a room filled with poker machines frequented by some undesirable characters; (iii) rudimentary restaurant that offers low quality food. You don't get value for the relative high cost/night. This place is in need of serious retrofitting.

Friendly staff - airport flyer was really handy. The rooms were not up to scratch as far as cleanliness goes. There were alot of stains on the carpet and it felt dirty to walk on. The heater didnt work properly - when we turned it on it let off a burning smell, when I went to turn it off the powerpoint did not appear safe at all. It was loose and the switch was almost falling out. The bathroom facilities were really out dated - the shower basin was stainless steel, there was paint falling off the walls, the floor felt sticky and there were stains on the toilet seat. We stayed at this hotel 2 nights, one when we flew into NZ and again 10 days later when we flew out. When we returned there on our flight out we were assigned the exact same rooms as when we flew in and suspect that apart from new towels the room was as we left it - sheets were wrinkled when we pulled the blankets back and unique fold in the toilet roll was still there. Interesting though not that comforting.

We chose this hotel from slim pickings of available hotels around Auckland Airport. It's not that close, but they did provide transportation which was important. The problem with this is that there were NO other choices for food or entertainment other than what the hotel provided. ... but for $60 a night, it wasn't unexpected. The rooms were suitable, but dingy, each of our group's 3 rooms were decorated differently, with two rooms not even having a fan for cooling (forget any notes of AC). Sliding doors on the backs of each room worked, but could easily be unlocked from the outside, so there was an aura of insecurity as well. The staff were nice, but some members of them were barely competent at their job.

Quiet location near airport. Rooms getting a little tired but clean. Had a twin bedded room and we slept well. Didn't actually use the parking facility or the shuttle bus but it was available.
