The view from the apartment was
The view from the apartment was fantastic but aside from this the hotel was fairly average. The room (Junior Suite) was petty compact with no room for luggage and poorly designed bathrooms. Water went everywhere due to the bath over shower layout so we couldn't place anything on the floor and needed towels to mop up copious amounts of water. There was no consistency with several items not being replaced when required i.e. facecloths and teatowels. Also, when we requested additional towels on a couple of occasions we were advised this was not done!! The pool area was very sterile and windy so unfortunately not conducive to lying around the pool relaxing. Maybe, still some work to be done here to encourage people to use it - altough no towels appeared to be available for this either?? We did recieve superb service from one of the desk staff who tried very hard to arrange a rental car for us - so full points on this level.

great place to stay in Noumea.
great place to stay in Noumea. room (suite) had kitchen, washing machine. close to shops and restaurants. the hotel's terrasse restaurant was also nice and quiet with nice views. i'd stay at La Promenade again and would recommend it to anyone.

Traveling Americans from Korea
Jan 10 Trip to New Caledonia
Junior Suite was not as large as the vitual picture made it look. Motocycles and small cars race on the road in front of the hotel until 2 AM or the police finally show up and run them off. The hotel and New Caledonia in general do not seem to appreciate the business. They seem to have an attitude of take it or leave it. No one ever attempted to be flexible about a booking. We enjoyed the sun but the water was still a little cool. Everything was very expensive. Everyone smokes everywhere. I don't mind paying but I like a better attitude to go along with what I'm getting. The only people who spoke during our trip were a few "Aussies". Bottom line is we will not go back not because of cost but the personality of the people.

Short walk from hotel
Grocery store behind hotel offered basics. Expensive but allowed us to prepare breakfast in the room. Also the bakery in the hotel had wonderful breads but the problem was trying to pick one. No one spoke English. Also the bus is a good value. Be careful not to plan for a transfer with the hotel. Our pickup at the hotel stopped at many out of the way places to pick up individuals from homes. I think the hotel used this service so they would make money. bottom line make your own arrangements with a shuttle service and know what you are getting for your money.

I had a fantastic one bed apartment
I had a fantastic one bed apartment with sea view, exactly as per the pictures and description. I understand all rooms are facing the sea in that hotel. The apartment was spacious, "homy" and well decorated, very comfortable bed. Kitchen was well equipped with the necessary cookware but no complementary coffee or dishwashing liquid which is a bit cheap and a pain when you need to buy that stuff only for a few days. There is a convenience store near by (walking distance). Location in Anse Vata is safe and it has a good choice of restaurants. A city bus goes downtown in 20 min but the buses do not run late at night especially on weekend and "downtown" Noumea is not so safe. Hotel staff went out of their way to help me with an excursion booking to Ile des Pins since New caledonia is not so well organized for tourists.
