Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and Emerald Casino

Beautiful facility, pool with ocean view and a great beach. Numerous resturants were all very good to excellent. Service was terrific. Would recommend guests opt for a room uprade if you have the chance as the basic rooms are pretty much just that: though clean and tidy could have used a few more square feet of room.

We just returned from a weeks stay at this Marriott. The resort is very beautiful as far as location and the outdoor grounds go. Fantastic snorkeling right off shore but dont forget the water shoes as the coral will make getting into the water painful! The staff in the hotel area all pleasant and helpful. The food and drinks were very good. The only drawback for me was the room itself very dated! Very uncomfortable old mattresses with very worn furniture! Very surprising for the Marriott and very disappointing! The rooms need a major overhaul! Thank goodness we didnt spend much time in our room as this facility had a beautiful pool and beach area. We also enjoyed the casino. Willemstad was a must to see plenty of shopping and food choices only 7 min away. Also would definitely recommend a car we went to absolutely gorgeous beaches 1 hr away which had white sandy beaches breath taking views! Also was able to go to the big supermarket for snacks and drinks the hotel will supply u with a fridge. Over all very pleasant stay the room and lack of sleep from the uncomfortable mattress was truly the only downside.

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms, nice pool with great bar and happy hour, warm sun. What else do you need? Only negative: health club/spa was a little disappointing.

The marriot is one of the better hotels in the area. The private beach area there is the best. The restaurants food was good. my problem there was waiting long to receive my meals and i had to wait 2 hours after check in time , because my rooms were not ready!

We stayed four nights in this resort which in itself is in a gorgeous location. Though the staff itself never was very welcoming or warming the surroundings kind of let you enjoy where you were without the staff interceding . Restaurants were average no local flair for the foods of the island were included. The room conditions needed attention, mosquito filled damp and mildewy smell. When asked for sheets to be changed after three days they were not. Hallways had trays of room service plates left for a few days and towels and garbage was left on the beautiful beach as well. The casino itself was boring, poker dull and craps table was never opened or manned. The plus was the beach access for the reef and the magnificent snorkeling that was right offshore. Its central location from the airport and Willemstad were great. I would love to return for the location but only if Marriott brings this facility back to what they represent.

Marriott was beautiful. The staff friendly and very helpful. On site dive shop a hugh plus. Rooms were comfortable and clean.

The hotel had one of the better beaches that I saw while on the island (in terms of not being very crowded, not being very rocky, and having good snorkeling off shore). Having a dive shop on site was very convenient too. The grounds were well maintained and very pretty. Restaurants had good hours (you could find food as late as 2am). One area for improvment would be the selection of foods on the menus. Most of the menus were rather short, but the food itself was good and staff was friendly although not as attentive as the staff at restaurants in the US (this seemed to be normal in Curacao though). The only other area for improvement would be to add a few more umbrellas on the beach for extra shade. Usually you had to get to the beach early if you wanted a chair in the shade. The location of the hotel was great, about a 5-10 minute drive from downtown, which was convenient for us since we rented a car. If you don't rent a car spending a lot of time downtown would involve taxi rides, or using the twice/day shuttle service provided by the hotel. We never used the shuttle, but it didn't seem very convenient since it returned before dinner time. The hotel was about a 30 minute drive from thenational park and Westpunt. Overall I enjoyed our stay and would return to this hotel if we return to Curacao!

The hotel is picturesque. The view from the lobby overlooking the pool and beach was beautiful. The staff was very attentive.

Always stay at Marriotts but this one was less than par. Service in restaurants was very slow. Some employees didnt even understand English. Rooms are old with old tv's and furniture and loud a/c. Location was close to town. Beach nice but should have more umbrellas and could be wider to water. Also NO Water sports except diving or snorkeling gear. Kids wanted to do banana boat or parasailing but none on whole island. Seaquariium fun...kids swam with dolphins. Rented a car but not easy to get around. No side street names on many streets...got lost several times. Average not what I expected or hoped for a Marriott!

Great accommodations, breathtaking views, plenty to do. Loved this place. I'd definitely come back.
