Marquis Hotel, St. Martin
The Marquis Hotel and Spa was the bright spot on an otherwise ordinary stay in St Martin. It's located on the French side of the island but is an easy half hour drive from Princess Julianna Airport. We only stayed one night because it was just a stopover at the end of a twelve day trip, but the staff was gracious and accommodating. We flew in at 8am, picked up the rental car and drove to the hotel. Even though check-in wasn't unitl 4pm, Moira at the front desk was unfazed by our 9am arrival and immediately checked us into the room. She also told us that we could get breakfast on the pool terrace, which turned out to be wonderful. This property is well managed and very relaxing. The oversized rooms with the electric storm shutters and the peaceful pool deck make this a wonderful place to wind down.

Try dinner at Le Calypso down next to the Radisson Blu. It's pricey, but the food is excellent and the atmosphere is pure tropical.

perfect retreat from the noise
My fiance and I had an opportunity to visit St Martin as guests at a friends time share on the dutch side. Our flight arrived a day before we could move in to the time share. We chose to spend our extra night at the Marquis. That night set the tone for the entire trip. The service was personal and unparalleled. The staff was available for everything we needed without hovering Location was amazing, Off the beaten track initally difficult to find, once we knew where to turn it was to our favor. The views over the bay were breathtaking - more than made up for the short down hill walk to the quiet secluded beach. Breakfast on the terrace was delicious. Close to Grand Case for over the top dining. located on the quiet end of the island this property was the best! Had our lodging for the rest of the week not been prepaid, we would have made changes to spend all of our time here. Highly recommended!

Quiet Out of the Way Hotel
Great, small, quiet hotel that is not easily accessible (but that's part of the appeal). Guests have beach privileges at a very nice hotel which is a two minute drive down the hill. This is not the place to go if you're looking to roll out of bed and be on the beach, but as long as you have a car it was not a big deal. You should definitely rent a car if you're going to stay here. It's a 10 minute drive to Grand Cas for great dining and 5 minutes to Pinel Island.

Hotel Marquis
It is a lovely small hotel. The rooms are clean and pretty. The views are amazing. The hotel itself is not fancy, but does have a cute pool and provides beach service to the seconds away Radisson Hotel. The staff could not be friendlier and more helpful.

The hotel is at least one half hour from the airport, and up a steep hill, so keep that in mind.

Ok hotel, far away, good view though.
It was an okay experience. But it's far away from the beach/restaurants. They do provide a free shuttle though, so it's not terribly inconvenient. You share the beach with another hotel.

Great Honeymoon!
Me and my husband traveled to the Marquis last month and really enjoyed it. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help you. We had a unforgivable honeymoon in St Martin, we definitely advise the Marquis to other persons willing to go to a calm place to enjoy their holidays.
