Good

A great location, up high with a nice breeze and view of Orient Bay. Some staff memebers are great and others have a negative attitude. Our room was lacking blankets and pillows. Our towels were not replaced even though they were all used and on the floor. All in all a good place to stay for Orient Bay. We will stay there again because it seems like the best option for the area.

Beautiful spot

Had a wonderful vacation at Hotel La Plantation. I appreciated the way the staff made a great effort to make me feel welcome. The hotel has little bungalows set on a hillside. It's a peaceful spot.

A very nice vacation dinner with a few caveats

Had a wonderful time. Beautiful location, close enough to the fantastic beach, but remote enough to offer nice grounds with lush vegetation. Staff is very friendly and efficient. Room was spacious although some of the furniture was a bit beat up. Breakfast was very good. Pool is beautiful. On the down side, the restaurant while very good, is expensive; wifi is only available in the reception area; and one has to keep windows closed at all times to avoid getting mosquitoes in. They still find their way in anyway and you'd better spray with insect repellent regularly.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Take advantage of the relativly well-equipped kitchenette and the nearby superette in Orient Bay only a 5 min. walk away or the well-stocked US Import supermarket a couple of kilometers away to dine on the studio's terrace with a beautiful view.

Wonderful time

2nd time at la plantation. We liked the room, spacious and comfortable, employees were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included, served around the pool from 7:30 to 10:00. Easy 5 min. walk to Orient Beach, with beach towels and chaise loungers included. check-out time at 11:00 but if you have a late flight they have a locked room for luggage as well as shower. Small library on site with many good novels.

INTERESTING HOTEL

We stayed at La Plantation one day before and one day after a cruise. The staff is very nice, the pool very pleasant and the beach that the hotel is near (not on) is quite nice. The room was spacious but sparsely furnished, including a bed that was caved in in the middle and one pretty much "unsittable" futon. It had a lovely view and a very pleasant veranda. The room was not overly clean, but not awful. The continental breakfast, which was included, was average at best. The dinners (we only ate there once) were not good at all. If you stay there, you will find much better and more reasonably priced food on the beach or in the little town nearby to which you can walk. All in all, it has its good points - I was between two and three stars.

Dining tip: Not Applicable

There are numerous good restaurants on the beach and in the local town - a short walk from the hotel. There are many really good restaurants in Grand Case - a short cab ride away.
