A Serious Location for Divers

Our trip to Bonaire was for diving and the resident dive facility, Toucan Diving, did not let us down. The dive staff was competent, yet relaxed. The boats were fast getting you diving and back quickly and comfortably. Good rear platform and ladders made entry and exit easy. The hotel and restaurant staff were courteous but a bit slow. The Tipsy Seagull restaurant had really, really good food! The other restaurant was good+. Both were pricey although the complete package would correct that. If you are the type who doesn't like to be locked in to a meal package, it is a short walk to downtown where there are many excellent restaurants.

At first glance Plaza ...

At first glance Plaza Resort looked like the perfect place for our vacation. Then the AC didn't work in our room and we were offered a fan. When we declined and insisted on being moved we were accommodated and moved to an up-graded room and assured there would be no additional cost. All went fairly well for the next 8 days although I must say the staff needs extensive training in customer service. When time came to check out we were charged an additional $700+ for 2 extra guests. I am still furious and would never go back or recommend this hotel to anyone. The additional cost is being disputed, but to date no refund! What a SCAM and sad way to end a wonderful vacation with my children.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The very best place on the island for food and friendliness is CACTUS BLUE. About a 15 to 20 minute walk from the hotel. An absolute MUST if you visit Bonaire.
