Dive Vacation
The room was comfortable. The restaurants/beach bars were nice, as well. The BEST thing about this hotel is the dive shop and pier that goes straight out to the reef. You can dive any time of the day and go right off the pier. They leave tanks out for you and give you a locker. I did not appreciate arriving at 5:30am (after an overnight flight) and being told in the outdoor lobby we had to wait until 2pm to check in. That is something that needs to be dealt with. While I was taking a nap on the couch, another person came up and told me she had the same experience the day before. The worst part of this hotel was the woman working at the Hertz car rental. She was incredibly rude. We had questions and every answer she gave began with a big sigh and an eye roll. NOT professional AT ALL. The car rental service was the biggest inconvenience I've come across in a long time. Aside from those logistical things, the hotel was great and we enjoyed our trip.

Rightfully unpretentious
I have been traveling the world for 35 years and stayed in some bad hotels, but I never stayed in a hotel this bad. The service was nonexistent, the best rooms were barely those of a 2 star hotel and the staff was bordering the unpleasant. It sad because, for an Island that lives off tourism, they aren't doing anything to develop it.

Great diving,Hotel&food.Great front desk night staff [...] very helpfull.Only downsides if your calling the states take unlocked cell phone and get digicel calling card in town hotel long distance can be pricey. Also Bring deep woods off mosquitos depending on time of year can be a problem as all over Carribean you can get Dengue fever if you are unlucky in the mosquito lottery.Overall Bonnaire Divi a wonderfull place.Recommend it.[...]

Less than expected after 8 years ago.
Room not ready for two hours after check in. Alarm clock did not work. No new towels after housekeeping one day nor coffee/cups. No electrical plugs near coffee pot nor to plug in alarm clock. Had to pay for safe lock, $6.00/day despite high crime area. Hotel staff was slow to attend to needs. They tended to speak about guests in Papamiento behind guests' backs. Shuffleboard court was cracked. Pool bottoms were cracked and broken. Dive shop equipment was dangerously in poor repair causing dive emergency when bouyancy control device inflator fell apart on 10 year old SCUBA diver in open water. SCUBA tank "O" rings were faulty on multiple tanks and blew out on several dives.

Great location for snorkeling!
The atmosphere is low key and friendly, very uncrowded at this time of the year. The room was clean & adequate but hardly luxurious. Our only criticism is that our room was not available until 2:30pm. Although the Houston to Bonaire plane always arrives at 5:30am, no alternatives or suggestions were made for tourists arriving so early.

Weekend Traveler
"Great Location, but a bit dated"
When we arrived they had no record of our reservation, or anyone's who had been made on a Friday and arrived before the following Monday. They did their best to accommodate us, although they were not able to find our records even with our [...] confirmation. Package was slightly different than expected, included a welcome drink and matching coupons for the casino, but we were charged for our electricity use, and we were unaware of this in advance. Location is close enough to enjoy the main city and local restaurants, if you don't mind a good walk in the heat. Staff did their best to accommodate us when we arrived early, but when they offer to let you leave your bags, they mean an unsecured closet that they encourage guests to go in and out of unattended to drop off and retrieve bags. Breathtaking view for such a low price though, with multiple pools and areas to swim and snorkel in the ocean. Great swimming area! Although pools are very basic, over all experience was good, but average. Main bedroom and terrace of our room were updated and plenty new, but we found the bathrooms to be very outdated and not as clean as the rest of the room.

Divi Flamingo Review
This was our second time staying at the Divi in Bonaire. We choose to stay there because we have access to all the diving services we need without the inundation of other scuba divers. The oceanfront rooms are great to enjoy the sounds and sights of the ocean, not to mention the wonderful sunsets.

Very comfortable accommodations.
The view of the water and relaxing on the jetty in front of the hotel was really nice. We watched the sunset there each evening before getting ready for a nice dinner. The iguana and crabs were fun to watch, too. Lots of activities at the dive shop onsite which was excellent - great operation, meticulously organized and safe for divers.

Was not sure what to expect with the Divi - turned out it was a really good mid-priced hotel and the location was ideal. The rooms were pretty typical - air conditioner was critical as it was about 90 the entire time. The outdoor balcony overlooking the water was nice. The onsite restaurant provided fast service and decent food. The onsite diving provided excellent service and wide variety of options for diving. Also, everything was within walking distance to the downtown area - which was very convenient. Overall the Divi was a good deal for the price.
