Bastion Hotel Groep stands for a personal atmosphere, hospitality, comfort and good facilities for an attractive rate. Bastion Hotel Amsterdam Zaandam South offers a 24 hour front office, comfortable rooms and an extensive choice of dishes from the a la carte menu in the atmospheric restaurant. For relaxation and a nice ending of the day guests are always welcome in the cozy hotel bar or smoking lounge. This lounge contains an lcd television, air-conditioning and relaxing lounge chairs. The hotel also has free wireless internet in the entire hotel. In the lobby the hotel has a computer available, for guests, for free use of the internet. Domestic animals are not allowed.

Reasonable hotel/price for Amsterdam

Arrived late at night & stood outside in rain while waiting for front door to be opened. [...] Room was quiet, clean & a relatively large room for a European hotel. Hotel was much further from airport than I'd thought & taxi was 50 euros.

far away from center, unfriendly stuff...expensive for the location.

the front desk people where rude and not too helpful..

Not bad

I stayed at this hotel for one night. The location was a little far from the city center, but it was only one bus ride away that took about 15 minutes. As far as staff goes, we spoke to one girl who wasn't very friendly, but we were also helped by a man who was much more welcoming. In the end, the price was decent and the room was clean. It wasn't a beautiful hotel, but it's good if you just need a place to sleep.

Cheap Amsterdam Stay in Inconvenient Location

The hotel is cheaply priced for Amsterdam, but it is actually in a town called Zaandam. While the hotel is only ~4 miles from the Amsterdam Centraal train station, it was very difficult to find via public transportation the first time, even with the help of several public transportation staff. I figured out the hard way that bus 391 goes to the hotel, after a lengthy ride. It costs 4 euros to travel to and from central Amsterdam by bus. Other buses may go to the hotel as well. I only found food at a gas station across the street from the hotel that was within walking distance to the hotel. Therefore, unless you have a car while in Amsterdam, would recommend that you eat in Amsterdam or buy groceries in Amsterdam, else be prepared to eat at the hotel restaurant. I didn't eat at the hotel restaurant, because I'm frugal that way and I don't enjoy eating in hotel restaurants, especially one of this caliber. The bottom line is that you can save a lot of money staying in this hotel over hotels in central Amsterdam, but you will find it very inconvenient.

Zufrieden stellende Leistung

Das Hotel liegt mit dem Bus ca. 20min von Amsterdam entfernt und die Busse fahren sehr regelmäßig hin. Das Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis war auch okay. Besonders für Personen, die viel unterwegs sind und nur in dem Hotel schlafen wollen, ist essuper, aber auch ansonsten, kann ich mich nicht beklagen. Am check-in wurden wir von einer Dame nicht sonderlich freundlich in Empfang genommen, der Rest des Personals, machte dies aber wieder wet.
