Refurbishment is required in Rotterdam!

If driving, Euro Hotel is awkward to find unless you use SatNav as it's tucked away in a back street - it's an OK back street, I felt safe as it's well lit. The description for this place is all wrong, DO NOT be misled by the pictures, they must have been taken 20 years ago! The parking is not on site as the website suggests, it's about a 7 or 8 minute walk away with suitcases. The staff are warm and friendly, but the amenities are a little lacking. If you need an iron, a fan or the TV remote, you have to ask at reception. All of the decor is tired, well very tired in truth, and wardrobes and cupboards are well past their sell by date, in saying that everything worked as it should have including the loose toilet seat. The bad was clean and reasonably comfortable, well I slept through the night anyway. The lift looks like it's been faulty for a while as it no longer goes to the fourth floor, there's a piece of duct tape over the floor four button and a note. Plenty of hot water in the newer bathroom and the shower works well. Would I stay there again? Yes, for one, maybe even two nights but no more, room 312 is probably the smallest hotel room I've ever stayed in. There are some excellent eateries and drinking establishments within a 5 minute walk and if you're reading this with a view to staying here, you really should go to Gusto, an Italian restaurant not 5 minutes away, truly amazing food in my opinion, the best outside of Italy. It's also close to the Rotterdam Marine Museum, very interesting if you're in any way interested in this type of thing. There is also a cafe just toward the Euro Hotel from Gusto where they make everything on site from scratch, great for breakfast (we didn't eat in the hotel). As long as you're expectations aren't too high, this is an OK place to stay.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to Gusto, the Italian restaurant, great food. (And no, I don't know anyone that works there or the owner).
