Whether you are on a business trip or looking for a weekend break destination, the city of Haarlem has a great deal to offer. Right in the centre of this atmospheric medieval city you will find the Golden Tulip Lion d'Or. Established around 1810, this modern-classic establishment is located within a short walking distance of the Market Square. Here you will find the famous Sint Bavo church with the Chr.Muller organ, the Frans Hals and Teylers Museum, Corrie Ten Boom House as well as Haarlem's fine shopping area and entertainment district. Beaches and golf courses are nearby. The hotel's 34 comfortable, air conditioned rooms all come with private bath and/or shower, hairdryer, trouser press, safe, clock radio, direct-dial telephone, dataport/modem and colour television. WIFI available via the safe and fast T-Mobile network. The hotel offers room service. The bar and lounge feature a wide variety of drinks and small snacks. Nice No-Brainer

What I liked the most about the Golden Tulip Lion D'Or was how smoothly everything run. Check in was simple and easy. Our receptionist was both friendly and helpful in terms of helping us decide what to do that night. Once we got to the room, we found it to be spacious and clean. The large shower (no tub) was a nice plus for us as well. Breakfast had a lot of nice options (hot and cold food). Check out was also a breeze. As to the location, it is essentially kitty corner to the train station, so we only had to lug our luggage a very short distance. Haarlem is a very small town, so being near the train station is not loud or anything. Our only noise complaint happened out of bad luck, as Turkey won a soccer match that night and there was a ton of happy celebrating (for hours). Luckily, the Euro Cup is only every 4 years.
