Very pleased

We have just returned from a week at this hotel. We were very happy with it. The bathroom fan did not work but as we did not mention it to staff then I can't grumble - except it happens so often in hotels and I wonder why the staff do not check. The location is a tram ride into town although we did walk a couple of times. The staff were very helpful including letting us know that the through train to the airport was available from a station 5 mins walk away. We did not eat at the hotel as we were on a budget & out & about. Not far away there is a shopping street with Albert Hejn supermarket (like Sainsburys) & KFC & Mcdonalds. There is also a market & a windmill not far away.

We loved the Van Gogh museum and the Anne Frank house. These are best reached by tram.

clean but hot

Very nice, professional staff, clean room but very, very hot. We had an aircon all night and still was very hot inside. Apart from that great place to stay, very close to central part and walking distance from the train station that takes you to the airport.

Our Amsterdam hotel delight

My wife and I arrived at the Manor Hotel at noon (rooms should be ready for arrivals at 3pm) we were given our room straight away. We were able to unpack and have a rest after our journey. The shower was modern open type, the TV had BBC 1&2 Sky News and The Discovery program. There was a fridge with bottle of water. There was no hair dryer but a notice on the wall seemed to say that this sort of thing were available from the reception. On the second day we hired some bikes from the hotel @ €15 for 24hrs each. The bikes were new and were fitted with built-in security chain, lights, stand ect. Very pleasant staff who seemed to care.

Limited facilities

A newly refurbished hotel, the rooms are immaculate, if a little cramped. (Smaller than your average travel lodge type room). A very sparse room service menu. No gym? No pool? The first thing anyone should do when staying at this hotel is buy a tram travel card, as the services into the centres are great, but not walkable.

Friendly and Charming Hotel

Let's face it, there is nothing cheap in Europe for Americans, so, although I have given it five stars, don't expect the equivalent of a five star American hotel. The room was small but quiet and nice. Housekeeping skipped a day in the three days we stayed. But, the staff overall was friendly and helpful. The tram is right there and it's about 10 stops from the Central Station and the neighborhood is beautiful. There is also a "coffee shop" within a block for those curious about that experience. Really nice visit to Amsterdam.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a falafel place across the street, a true Dutch breakfast spot a few blocks away and a tasty tapas place nearby. Best of all was the coffee house a block away :-)

Perfect city break!

This hotel was fantastic! They upgraded us to a junior suite with a balcony n it was stunning! Fridge with complimentary water, good bathroom things, nice view of the park... Location was fab! Tram stop right outside, where you catch no 9 and it gets you to dam square in about 5-6 mins. Coffee shop 2 doors down if that floats your boat ;) General shop opposite for drinks/snacks. All in all we will definitely be back!

Not bad not amazing

Room quit small and wasn't very clean however got a good deal at new year. It is in a more residential area therefore u can't quit feel the Amsterdam magic however the team 5 is right outside the hotel that takes u downtown. Reception area and staff nice restaurant not a great choice of food.

Wow!

Clean, contemporary rooms, well fitted and extremely comfortable beds/linen. Black out blinds and quiet surroundings guarantee a great night's sleep. Staff were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. A hop on the 9 or 14 tram takes you to Dam square in 10 minutes.
