Weekend away!
Very friendly staff! Beautiful breakfast! Good bar snacks. Beautiful rooms. Fantastic location! We will be staying here next year. Highly highly recommend this hotel.

Great hotel!
We were sad that there was no lunch or dinner at the hotel, only breakfast. But, the place was great, overall. The location was great, right near, Centraal Station. From there, you could take a tram to any place in the city that you wanted to go, or even take a side-trip to the nearby Zandvoort beach.

The Anne Frank Huis, the National Museum, and even the Wind Mill Museum, were just a short a walk to get to, plus a tram or bus ride. That made getting around super easy!

Great home base
Enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally and conveniently located with maybe a 5-minute walk to Central [train] Station. The hotel is on a busy tram line and at the perimeter of the Red Light District. The rooms are somewhat small, but charming, comfortable and reasonably clean. We spent one night at the hotel - the night of the World Cup Final. Despite all of the ruckus on the street we were able to return to our room for a little peace and quiet when needed.

Walk everywhere if you can you get to see so much more and nothing is very far away - it is not a big city. Canal cruise from Rokin very good. As were all the main sights.

Great Hotel!
Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room, and a great rate. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Amsterdam. The only minor thing we wish had been different was if the breakfast they offered had been more affordable. We ate next door for much less. Overall a FIVE STAR hotel in our book.

Decent Accommodations
The hotel was decent with very comfortable beds. It's also in a central location near the Centraal Train Station. It would be helpful to have free wireless internet for guests.

Good base for tourists
The breakfast buffet was really good! The suites are roomy and cool. However, some of the staff was not as polite and personable as I would like. One front desk man was curt. That said the rest of the staff was helpful.

Essentially, the place you want to be.
The wife and I stayed here for 3 days after a biz trip of mine in Rotterdam. An 8 min. walk from the madness that is the Amsterdam epicenter, the Convent affords you the quiet late night bars and coffee shops (NOT coffeehouses, lol)to wind down. Great little breakfast place next door, btw, called "bon appetit" or something. Staff is great, room was lovely. I'm 42, married, kids(with the in-laws this trip), and have been travelling on business and pleasure for about 25 years. And over that time, I've gotten a bit uptight about hotels. The Convent is essentially where you want to be while in Amsterdam.

Very convenient location, near
Very convenient location, near to Central Station, Anne Frank House, Canal Tours, Dam Square, shopping and eateries. Quiet and comfy room although very outdated and worn. Only downside was safe at Reception involving two keys and signatures. Flat screen TV with BBC, kettle in room, nice view over the rooftops. Loved it!
