Spacious and decent for the location.

Hotel is one of the better ones in Amsterdam. Clean, new and nice furniture/beds/sheets. Nicely decorated. Our room was on ... the bottom floor facing a loud street and was too noisy. The price seemed resonable.

My fiance and I were in Amsterdam for 9 days. We stayed at 3 different hotels. The Renaissance was the only 4 star we ... stayed in and was by far the nicest and most modern. Rooms had flat screen tv, and were spotless. The entire staff was incredibly helpful especially the concierge.

Before you choose to eat at a seemingly convenient restaurant near the Hotel and regardsless how far you may need to go, make sure you ask the concierge for his dining location recommendations in order to avoid disappointment (taste, presentation and/or price wise)

many resturants near hotel - specials 10 euros-and up the further you go out of central station area you get better prices but not much- breakfast is usually 6-7 euros and up- lunch ,dinner most places is 10,15,20 euros ,pizza slices around 4 euros, can coke 2 euros, phone calls found internet cafe with phone very cheap to call home for a few min, about 1 -2 euros --

Centrally, well located hotel.
Family Traveler Aug 30, 2009
Centrally well located hotel, close enough to the Main (Central) Train Station to make it conveniently accessible and far ... enough away from it to make it peaceful and relaxing. Well appointed rooms with very comfortable beds and ammenities such as high speed internet and flat screen tv/monitor (with a wireless keyboard). Unfortunately, these come with a price that start affecting the otherwise great rate that Orbitz got for the room.

Great hotel and good access
Pat May 14, 2009
I was in the Netherlands for work. I have not been to Amsterdam, so I wanted to take avantage of being there and see as much ... as I could in one evening. I picked the Renaissance Amsterdam Hotel because of it's location - it is literally a 5 minute walk after getting off at the Amsterdam Central train station. Amsterdam is not that big, so the hotel location is really accessable to everything. The look of the lobby of the hotel is great - clean and modern. The rooms are also very nice. The room is spacious and also very modern. For some reason, I wasn't able to dail a local Netherlands phone number for my dailing card access to the US. I went to the lobby to look for a public phone. The concierge literally offerred for me to use his phone. Very nice guy. I highly recommend this hotel.

Definitely paying for location but for the price of the hotel, they will charge extra for every little thing. For a hotel of ... this calibur, I would expect just a little more.
