Weekend in Amsterdam

Very positive overall. Nice comfortable room. Best location in Amsterdam for a tourist. Only negatives. (1) The front desk sent us to elevator 5 to go up to our room, but elevator 5 had a hard to see sign on it noting it was out of order. (elevator 5 is a bit old and small. Not nearly as nice as the rest of the hotel). (2) breakfast is Expensive. €58 for two. Be prepared

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

We like to walk and many museums, canals, cafes, as well as the railroad station were very nearby. However, after experiencing Queeen's Day, we would not go back to Amsterdam on that holiday! The mobs prevented shopping and sight-seeing!!

Great Location

I was initially given a very dark room I hated but was changes to a fantastic room with a garden view when I objected. We were visiting our son and it was a perfect central location. We even walked from the train station.

Don't miss the 9 Streets area. The Art Gallery area is near. Visit Annet Gelink Galley for important contemporary Art. Der Waag is a great restaurant. Also Amsterdam if you have kids but it is not within walking distance.

Great location, convenient to everything

Room was spacious. We asked for an upgraded room (better view) for 55 Euros, but were given the upgrade for free.

We used the Hop On, Hop Off tour boat that starts on the East and West ends of the Central Station. For 22 Euros a person, you can ride for 24 hours and get off at any of the stops on the four routes that go everywhere.

In the heart of the city

I wasn't sure what to expect although was hopeful based on some of the other reviews. Wasn't disappointed despite the fact I didn't get one of the refurbished rooms. Room was spacious and comfortable and had everything you would need for a short stay. The breakfast was in the Winter Gardens restaurant which was fantastic as a venue and so was the food. I drove to Amsterdam and parked my car in the hotel car park which was my one and only real disappointment. Apart from being expensive to park I would have liked someone at reception suggesting an alternative. People were friendly and helpful in the hotel and it was within easy reach of any tourist attraction being so centrally located. Would recommend it as a really comfortable hotel and a nice experience for any new visitors to Amsterdam.

we've been here before, and like its location, proximity to trams, and to a very good market. The service is very good, and the rate reasonable.

Great Location - Nice Team

Wonderful central location - directly on Dam Square. Could walk to meals, shopping, and many attractions - quick walk to the train as well. The hotel is very old and they do their best to maintain. Front desk service is slow, but they are very gracious once you have their attention. I would say this a 4-Star not a 5-Star hotel. The concierge staff is very helpful. It is a noisy location - they can't do anything about that - but, also fun and bustling.

The Great Krasnapolsky

Amsterdam was really great. The Hotel Krasnapolsky was located in the heart of the city. Right down the street from the Central Station and the rest of Europe. The Winter Gardens breakfast buffet was wonderful and beautiful. Will be saying there again and again.
