Four at best
A five star hotel doesn't miss a thing. If this were a five star hotel the mattresses would be first class. Upon entering the room I figured we didn't get one of the renovated rooms I read about online and when I sat on the bed I was positive we didn't. Just looking at the bed you could see lumps and bulges and at first I thought it was due to the down comforter. The location was five star but the hotel not so much. It was quite which is important to me.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
We seemed to have a hard time finding a restaurant that catered to our tastes which are pretty ordinary. Wish I had thought to ask Suri ( the IPad queen) before venturing out. The restaurant in the hotel is pricey so I would plan your meals ahead of time before your feet give out.

Great Location, great staff
We had a lovely time at the NH Krasnapolsky. The staff was friendly, the concierge is super helpful. We got chosen as guest of the day and they gave us chocolates, dutch wafers and a coupon for the bar. The bartenders in the hotel bar make amazing cocktails, don't waste your money going to the bars outside for drinks.Loved this place!

Great hotel at a great location
This is one of the very best hotels we've ever stayed. The hotel has a modern feel, and the rooms are spacious and appointed with the latest in bathroom and bedroom equipment. Hotel Krasnapolsky is in the heart of downtown Amsterdam, close to restaurants, entertainment, and public transportation. Day tours to flower gardens, cheese factories, clog makers, and museums can be easily arranged just down the street.

Good hotel at excellent location
Excellent location. Center to everywhere. A big supermarket next to Magna Plaza provides variety of commodities , and its cheese is sold 30% cheaper than that in the dam square.

Great Location
The hotel is situated in the main square of town, and the price is ridculosly low. We lay over in Amsterdam on all trips to Africia, since Schipol is the best airport in the EU. Amsterdam is the most cost effective and easy to navigate city in Europe.

Irritating details creat a bit of bait-n-switch impression
Good points: very, very friendly staff and nice location. Bad points: advertised free Internet was slower than a typical mobile Internet connection (delivering steady 14KB/sec..), advertised fitness didn't mention use of it carried a fee (albeit minor one), the "special price" for breakfast was over 20€ (more if you decided to take it in the morning). Not big issues if I was on a holiday, but on a business trip very expensive place in terms of lost time.

Welcomed Early Check-In
We arrived at 7:00 AM after a long and exhausting red-eye flight from Nairobe. I expected to have to store our luggage and try to stay awake for another 7 hours until we could get into our room. What a wonderful surprise to be given our room upon arrival--we were able to catch a few hours of sleep in a lovely room before we toured Amsterdam. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and considerate. The room had more amenities than many hotels--toothbrush, paste, hair brush, razor, etc. I loved the deep bathtub, so welcome after the long flight and hours of sightseeing, The bed was comfortable--there were only two pillows, but there was a card in the room that offered an invitation to call to choose from a number of different pillow styles. The breakfast buffet in the lovely "Winter Garden" was exceptionally good, although quite expensive. We did order room service and were quite disappointed in the quality of the food. I ordered the mushroom ravioli--it was tough and was cold when it arrived. My husband was also disappointed with his order of seafood. The order came with only the actual plate of food--no special covered tray, no flower, no garnish, no rolls or glasses of water to complement the meal that we have had in other hotels. And, it only came with one set of silverware and one napkin! But despite this, the hotel staff was wonderful, the room comfortable, and the location central to great sightseeing. And the price extraordinarily good--one third of what we would have paid directly!
