Outstanding

Good location with a terrific view from our 20th floor room (including a spectacular lightning storm one morning). Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, and other amenities. Reliable taxis always available the front door, or a 10-15 minute walk to city center.

Amazing Weekend Away

Just came back from a Two Night stay at the Moevenpick with 2 friends. We had a room of 3 and the room was huge! The beds were comfy and the room was clean! We had our own chauffeur who took and picked us from Centraal Station everyday! The staff were really friendly. The only negative I have is the room service food was poor.

Best Hotel Experience to Date

I spent 6 nights the Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, and I must admit that this has been the best hotel experience I have ever had. Upon arrival (mind you, it was quite windy and raining outside and I am a young female that travels alone often (including this trip)), the concierge immediately took my bags from me and put them aside. Guest services were extremely friendly and accomodating as well - they even put me on the 18th floor! My room was extremely clean and had a fantastic view of a canal and the Centraal Station. The first night I was there, I had a fever and fell very ill. I had called room service and they immediately came and brought me aspirin and some orange juice to help. The next day they called and had a doctor come to see me - which was on Christmas, so I was very thankful for the staff and the doctor for them to come. The hotel is located a bit away from the city centre, but is only 1 tram stop away, so this is really great. I especially liked it because I was not looking to stay in the middle of the city, but rather close in a more peaceful area. This was perfect. Also, there is a shuttle service every 30 minutes taking guests Centraal Station. Every day, the hotel room was impeccably clean. I had to also have room service food items and the meals were quite good. I ate one day at the in-hotel restaurant on the second floor, and the chef had even custom made a soup for me due to my dietary requirements. This was the best hotel I have stayed at in Europe, and the best hotel experience I have had to date. Overall, I was very happy, would definitely stay at this hotel again, and would definitely recommend it to friends, colleagues, and anyone who reads this review. Definitely worth the value!

Very nice location and service

I did sight seeing and the location was perfect to take tours. The train station was within walking distance which was very handy. I wish the hotel shuttle service should have been first come first rather instead of doing reservations for pick up and drop off at the central station. And from central station they should have run the shuttle service every thirty minute or so in the evening(which was again by reservation)It should have been by the time rather than reservation. In brief they should have a bigger shuttle and running every half hour to and from the central station especially in the morning and evening hours and than in the afternoon they can do it by reservation because most of the tourist are out by ten am and they do return by 11-11:30pm at the most. And they should also provide Airport pick up-can give free pick up and drop off service or put decent charge like under ten Euro per person that will certainly increase their flow of guests as people really look for these type of services in the hotel. The continental breakfast should be included in all types of rooms and may be buffet can have a price tag(if guests go for buffet)The Buffet was very expensive. the staff was very courteous and helpful.

Nice waterfront hotel

Good location, very close to the station and town. Nice view over the water. Transfer bus from hotel once every 30 minutes. Once when we were in a hurry, the driver kindly took us to the station at another time. Very kind of him.

i liked it

Positively surprised when entereing the room which was spotless, larger than expected and witha marvellous view of a'dam. sweet breakfastbuffet. one thing is that do remember your walking shoes - or just get a public transportation card. just across from the hotell is a tramstop. (is not a soubnd issue). the only problem with my stay was that my friend that was meeting me there had to skip out on it for work. and i really cannot blame movenpick for that,....

Moevenpick Hotel Amsterdam is great

The location is great, 5 - 10 minutes walk from Amsterdam Centraal train station. On a clear day, you can actually see the hotel from the back of the station. The free shuttle bus offer by the hotel runs on time. Buffet breakfast was ok, the usual fare. However, having breadfast included is a plus as food is expensive in Europe. Amsterdam is a lovely city and very easy to navigate. We love this place and will definetely be back in the very near future to stay longer.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you like chinese food, China town is about a 10 minutes walk from Centraal station, next door to the Dam and Red light district. Food is fantastic, probably in the same category as is San Fransisco and Toronto.
