City Break with kids

Travelling with my 3 kids, the family room was great - plenty of room. For us, the location couldn't have been better. It was easy to get to, and had all we wanted relatively close by or a short tram ride away. The area has a good choice of restaurants and cafes nearby. The staff were always welcoming and friendly and I would certainly stay there again.

marriott in amsterdam

location is at the very heart of the entertainment area. The service is top notch. i especially enjoyed my upgraded corner room with its own balcony. The only that is missing is wireless internet in the rooms (they have wired interenet), although if you have an access to the lounge there is a wireless service there.

Disappointed

For the price, I expected quite a bit more. It was convenient to the Rijksmuseum--which is virtually closed until 2013--but otherwise the local restaurants are all tourist traps. Our 'view' was of a busy street, and the rooms aren't soundproof. If you're looking for a large, American-style hotel, this is it; it had no character or style. I wish I'd saved £100/night and stayed someplace more interesting. (Maybe someplace that included tea/coffee in the room, instead of making you pay 3 euros down in the bar.)

nice place to stay

Really friendly staff. Place to change money in the lobby. They let us keep our luggage in a secure area until we could check in. Close to the canal boat station, Rijksmuseum, Hard rock etc.If you have a car call ahead to reserve a space. They have hotel parking but it is limited (which is not mentioned). local parking garage around the corner but, it is very expensive (ie. 68 euros a day) really nice place. Watch out for the bicycles. Which are everywhere...loud concert on saturday night but it stopped at 12;00 if thats a problem..

Great location, center of Amsterdam

To charge 15-20 Eurso per day for internet access on top of hotel rates is a shame!!! They also try to charge you 25 Euros per day for unlimited movies or 14 Euros per movie.

Very Nice

We were a family of 4 - the room was very clean and quiet. Very close to lots of great restaurants and sight-seeing and the staff was very friendly. The concierge set up a castle visit for my son which was nowhere to be found in my travel book. Room service was very quick. I would stay there again if we go back.

Wonderful location near the museums

Very special customer service. The finals of the World Cup were held while we were there. The hotel was full but we were treated like the only guests.
