We'll be back!!

Lovely location and very easy to reach once we figured out the trams lol. The staff were very helpful and friendly. 24 hour manned reception which was great. And an excellent attached bar/restaurant great for early morning coffee or a late drink. Location very quiet especially mid-week. The Zoo is two tramstops away. All in all a great place to stay. We will be back lol.

Paddy's Weekend Break

Overall very good. A little outside of the city centre but well supported by trams. Staff friendly but one member at front of house not very informative. Food prices for dinner in particular a bit expensive in my opinion.

cause i have a car, i tried to find the hotel that provides Free parking. I found it at your site that Arena Hotel with "Free parking". But when i checked out, Staff asked me to pay Parking fee EUR 25.42. I mentioned that i saw "Free parking" option. But he told "All Amsteram Hotel charge Parking fee. EUR 25.42 is not a big matter. But this kind of unexpected situation, it's not good.

average room, average service, beautiful building

We chose this hotel based on its looks, we sacrificed location slightly as its not as central as some we were looking at booking. The public areas of the hotel are beautiful but the room we had was not as luxurious as we had hoped, we were told it was an upgraded luxury room but it was just an average hotel room. Most of the staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful and the menu choices in the restaurant were very limited.

Almost Perfect!

Gorgeous hotel. Really welcoming staff, clean and comfortable room. Really chic and stylish, and felt really cosy. Easy airport transfer using the connexxions shuttle, which was about 26 euros each for a return. Just a few little niggles - we had no shampoo/shower gel provided in our shower until the final day, I'm sure if we'd have asked it would've been provided but we just thought that it didn't come with the hotel so we'd gone out and bought some from the supermarket which was a bit of a waste of money. Our 'downstairs' TV only worked for 5 minutes before cutting out, we mentioned it to the staff but it was temperamental and was working when they came to check it out; was a bit annoying when we got back from a long day of sightseeing and were unable to relax in front of the TV. Finally, the bathroom was definitely not private! Was fine for me and my partner but if you were staying with friends/siblings etc., it could be embarrassing and uncomfortable when in the shower or using the toilet; the other occupant could see/hear everything. Finally, the food and drinks were very expensive, we preferred to walk into the centre to get breakfast, dinner, etc. Hotel is about 20-25 minute walk from the centre of Amsterdam so not too bad but a bit of an effort after a lot of walking around the city! Overall, would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family, good value, lovely atmosphere and no major problems at all.

very good value hotel in quiet residential area

Hotel facilities and rooms were excellent, friendly, helpful staff. Our room was split level with seating area upstairs, perfect to relax after a long day walking. Bar quite expensive and very crowded during our stay due to conferences being held in hotel, plenty of local bars just a few minutes walk away

Couples City Break

Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were a good size, but could do with a bit of a refurb, i.e. walls painted, curtains washed, etc. However, the price was reasonable for Amsterdam and the hotel is well connected via the tram/metro/bus links into the city centre. Also within walking distance of many of the attractions if you are happy to walk 25 mins-ish into town. All-in-all it was a good stay and if the hotel was just a little more meticulous with their room maintenance it would have been perfect.

Good Anniversary weekend

Hotel is situated just outside of everything you want to see and visit. This is a good thing and the tram stops are 100m away which take you everywhere. At check in we got a free upgrade and our room was massive with a wet room and really comfy bed. The tv also as some English channels should you choose to watch. Things to watch out for are: deposit of £50 per night stay upon check-in and expensive mini bar prices. Other than that It's was good and staff are very helpful. Amsterdam isn't cheap anymore and in Dam square and the likes be careful when ordering drinks as they are very very expensive. Food is great and we found a great little steak house which we only paid £11 each for a good steak with all the trimmings, again watch the drinks cheapest bottle of wine £15/£20. Get around by tram at £6 per day and whatever you do don't get a taxi at any cost, £15 for a 5 minute journey and £55 to the airport. The train to the airport is £3 and takes 15 minutes, and also takes you right in to the terminal.
