Loved it here....just go :)

Best location in all of Amsterdam, one minute tram journey on trams 9 or 14. You could easily walk but we didn't because it was a bit cold in February. Little tip, there are only certain doors you can get on trams...I learnt from experience on my first day I hoped on the tram threw the wrong door and the door shut straight behind me with my boyfriend stuck on the outside. The tram took off and we were separated...nearly died. trams stop quite often though so we did find each other ok. Second tip...get a Map in the hotel, there brilliant. If your going to Amsterdam, stay in this hotel. Are hotel room was lovely, room 203, was shocked at how big it was cause I read the reviews. The room was big. We had 2 single beds pushed together, which where very clean and comfy. The rooms where tidied and cleaned everyday. The bathroom was so clean and big. There was a hairdryer, shampoo and body gel, a big mirror which suited me and 3 towels. The negatives are, are Tv didn't work and the front stairs carpet could be replaced. There is a bakery down the street which is soooo good. The woman made us ham salad sandwiches(where where in huge bread roll type things)which were class. The were so fresh mmm yummy and cheap to, only 3.50 euro. In my favourite bakery up the main eating street just off Dam square which is amazing also but they charged 6 euro for there salad baps, they where yummy but. You have got to get a heated chocolate waffle in this Bakery, we got one every night..unbelievable. Amsterdam is beautiful, its like going back in time with the old bikes, old buildings and police men on horses with very little cars, brilliant to see. Oh and can I just say the boys are hottt. So much to do in Amsterdam....loved it so much. Anne Frank was class, and Madam Tussauds was good crack, remember your camera :)You can't miss out on a wee snap of you and Robert Pattinson. Nemo was ok, seeing as me and my partner are 18 and 23 it was a little boring, got a few laughs but, you could make bubbles around yourself which is pretty cool. I've got so much to write about its ridiculous. The people are amazing...they speak so many languages and are so friendly, I couldn't get over it. Oh and the shops are amazing. There is normal shopping streets with Zara and River island then there is a better version of house of Frazer which has Gucci and Louis Vuitton etc...so good.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Take a tram to dam square and walk up the main eating street. There are so many resturants. The Bakery on the right hand side, (you can't miss it...looks and smells amazing) stop and get a heated waffel, so good. The steak house is good on the left hand size, order chicken and peppered sauce. You get chips and salad with it and your drinks come in huge pint glasses. The Chinese resturant is amazing, walk up this street past the 1st Canal and its the chinese on the corner(on the left), you can't miss it either. (you go upstairs init) and it is so posh and not expensive. Order the Sweet and sour chicken and there chicken chow main. Its amazing. loved it.

Good Location & Service, Some Weaknesses

This hotel was a perfect home base for us in Amsterdam. Located very close to the city center (but far enough to not be in the craziness and noise), with two tram lines intersecting right on the corner. Location-wise, could hardly have been better -- there is also a bank ATM on the corner, and a decent Chinese restaurant for takeout (called The Happy Corner). The front desk service was warm and so helpful. There we were able to buy 48-hour transit cards and were given a map to the system, and verbal directions. They even volunteered to print out our boarding passes the morning of our international flights. The room was small but nice-looking. The beds were soft, with plentiful pillows, and provided a deep night's sleep. The downside: It smelled like cigarette smoke when we arrived, despite the hotel's non-smoking policy. And the room cleaning was perfunctory... they made the beds, but didn't replenish the in-room tea supplies or take away/wash the dirty mugs and plates. So, not perfect, but good for the price, and we had a nice stay.

Good value location away from the crowds

Visitng daughter going to college there, the time of year not the best due to winter weather conditions. Hotel located away from the city core but close enough to get there by tram which runs by. Located nest to the Zoo. Resturants and bars near by so one could eat and drink in the area with locals, which was fun. Canal boat trips were great. took high speed train to Colgne,Germany to take in the Christmas Markets they are worth seeing. The architecture in Rotterdam is good to see.

Good enough

I've stayed in Amsterdam several times. This place is just a standard 2 star with small bathrooms and small rooms. A good value if you are traveling alone in the Dam and just need a room you wont be in very much.Beds are fine.100% non smoking.Use Tram 9.

Small but workable

A nice Hotel conveniently located if you plan on using public transportation in Amsterdam. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms are tiny! Still, if you intend to explore the city this Hotel can be a good base.

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Be careful about the cabs at the Central Station. They might overcharge tourists. It's very easy to take a tram that stops directly in front of the Hotel.

Nice room with everything you need.

There is pleanty around the hotel to grab food, and a drink at night. Next time would pick something a little coser to more action.

OK, so firstly the location. the

OK, so firstly the location. the hotel is located about 15mins walking from Rembrandt square and about 25-30mins from Dam Sq. it has easy access to trams and theres a beautiful park right beside the hotel along with the zoo. hotel rooms are very clean. stayed in a standard double with my girl, but it was quite tiny, so switched to the superior double which was awesome! had a 2 seater couch and lots of room to talk around. service was good, helpful. never tried the b'fast there. cant comment. the rooms are a tad noisy when others walk up and down the stairs at night. pricing wasn't bad at all.. about EUR 50 a night cheaper than living around the Dam area in a GOOD hotel.
