Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam

We stayed there for one night, on the Christmas Eve. There was no place for us to dine in the hotel, but this is not what the problem was. The hotel looked really old, it surely needs a renovation because it looks like it belongs to the 80s. I wouldn't rate it as a five star hotel, it's borderline as a four star. In addition, I wasn't crazy about the staff either, they were not really helpful with the luggage and the whole check in thing. Total dissappointment.

Great Staff, always willing to help and guide you with a great attitude. Room was large and very comfortable. SPA is great and Food at Bar and Restaurant is high quality with very good professional service. I will come back, probably in the summer.

Easy location close to central station, but a walk to museums. Large comfortable rooms, friendly staff that are fluent in English.

This hotel is in a great location near the Centraal Station. My room was very comfortable, especially the bed. I didn't like the hotel when I first walked in because it looks spooky. However, it is pretty and it grew on me. All the stained glass is interesting. The free minibar is a nice perk. The only thing I didn't like was the lights. You have to put in a card, but there were stairs going down into the room, so it is easy to fall if you are trying to turn them on in the dark. Also, the tub is very tall for climbing in and out. So, it might not be a good choice for an older person. I would definitely like to stay there again, though.

Nice staff, nice welcome, only one mishap. The wake up call at 5AM in the morning was not performed. We asked the night before. Our alarm clock was set, so no big deal, but it was a flaw. We hope that the people in 209 were not getting the call. Black countertops in the bathroom, make for not so clean looking amenities. They show spots that seems to be dirty,but are relatively clean.

Beautiful place!! I cannot express how much I enjoyed staying here. Even after reading the reviews on TrAdv. we decided to stay here. My wife and I (in our twenties) where more than delighted by the staff. True to dutch form the staff was polite and prompt. In every aspect.. from the front desk, to room service and even the spa (nice size indoor pool), the staff was always ready to accommodate. The rooms were quirky and unique. 24 hour room service was always delivered quickly, no matter what time of day. A few things...No pay TV channels available and internet can be choppy in some rooms. Together my wife and I have stayed in 3 rooms...one better than the next, definitely not a cookie cutter hotel. Amazing will be back again!

Hotel is a 5 min walk from Amsterdam central. The hotel staff were friendly and the rooms were nice. The concierge was helpful in suggesting tours and local places to eat. I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel was great, very friendly and very helpful with everything. It was in a good area and we felt safe walking home every night. I recommend to families as well as singles who are not big smokers.

The hotel was centrally located near everything. The staff was wonderful, the rooms large for Europe. The hotel is beautiful. It was a great experience.
