Not quite as advertised

The hotel is located in the middle of a business development and is very quiet during weekends. Food is very good however also very expensive. With a short walk to the tram it is quite easy and relatively quick and easy to get to downtown Amsterdam. The breakfast buffet is prohibitively overpriced, however there aren't any other options for restaurants nearby. There isn't enough space in the bar fridges to add any of your own items either, should you be interested in purchasing your own food. CAUTION REGARDING BEDS: The "Queen" sized bed is actually two singles pushed together with a foam wedge in the middle. It is impossible to sleep comfortably across this wedge, and so you might as well just go for a room with two separate beds and perhaps save some money. This hotel is also not well air conditioned. The fans in the room simply cycle air from the hallways into the rooms, it can take quite a while to cool a room down to Canadian normal standards. Our first night, the fan didn't even work and it was uncomfortably hot, however the staff did an excellent job switching our room at 4am. The fitness room is spartan with a treadmill, rowing machine, and elliptical plus one bench and some free weights. No mirrors or floor pads are available. The ceiling was also too low to allow me (6'6"/195cm) to run on the treadmill without hitting my head!

Rent a scooter for a day or so, they can be driven on the excellent bicycle paths all through the city. Just be careful to avoid pedestrian only areas!

my stay at this hotel

Very clean and tidy but didnt realise how far it was from the center and on the last night. The staff gave me a bus time table that only ran mon to fri and told me that buses ran on weekends when they didnt. And when i got back to the room and realised this i went back to reception and she booked at taxi for the next morning that cost us €25 euros. They dont tell you all the add ons. Also €50 deposit that we wasnt told about so more money to spend. But overall it was a nice hotel.

great value for money

We stayed at the hotel only for one night and it was very pleasant. The room is spacious but it was very dusty and one of the towels was dirty. The parking was also very expensive €19.50/ day. Overall a good hotel.

Interesting Hotel - Great Service

The hotel isn't close to the Centrum so there's a hike to get back and forth to the best areas where food and drink can be found - the hotel does have bikes and scooters for rent but the walk will give you a good chance to see Amsterdam's less touristy side. The paths between the hotel and the Centrum are perfect for biking and skating (some of the best I've ever seen in the world). About the room - I thought it was tidy with the exception of the dirty floor - hardwood floor that needed to be swept and the sink / shower drains were very slow - not sure why that was but it was gross. The hotel staff were very professional, kind, and helpful - the hotel restaurant / bar was good.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Go to the Centrum and find a store called "Dirk's" - get yourself some bottled water and other snacks because the hotel doesn't really offer a reasonable solution in this area - unless you consider 3.50 euro can of water to be reasonable when you're thirsty.

nice modern hotel

The hotel wasn't in the city, but the tram was close by and easy to figure out how to use. The hotel was very nice, and the service was great.

beautful park for walking running or a great place for a picnic is a two minute walk away. It is on a huge lake which would be nice in the summer. There seems to be a lot of water sports available.

Good Hotel Bad Location

The hotel is great, but in a horrible location. Its almost a 20 minute cab ride from both the airport and train station (central Amsterdam). That will cost up to 20-30 Euros per trip. Or you can take public transportation, but even those stops can be a few blocks away. The room itself is very nice, spacious, and in what appears to be the business campus for many American companies, IBM and PWC to name a few. Also weird that their bathroom doors don't lock. Overall, the hotel itself is great, but if you're hoping to enjoy the attractions of Central Amsterdam, I'd look to go elsewhere.

be prepared to travel

airport shuttle bus is 16euros each so its cheaper to get a taxi, hotel staff were great very helpful with directions, buying bus/tram passes. Expensive to eat and drink in though!! You have a 15min walk to the tram stop but trams are every 10mins then you are about 40-mins from dam square!! be prepared for a long journey back to hotel unless you pay 22 euro for a taxi, but be warned agree a price before you get in!! but most of all enjoy the wonderful place!!

Great hotel in need of staff training

Second stay here. A little outside Amsterdam but easily managed on public transport - bus 195 from the airport and bus 145 or tram 2 into Amsterdam centre. Lovely rooms, very clean - food in the hotel limited and expensive but not far to local set of shops including restaurants. Reception not well managed - had to queue for 15 mins when just one person was trying to manage the desk even though other staff were 'hanging around' - on checking out experienced a similar problem - learning to apologise for delays at the desk would help but it would be better if they prioritised dealing with customers over their paperwork and chatting with colleagues. Would stay again.

Nice quiet hotel

Very nice clean hotel. A little far from the main tourist sites in Amsterdam. But the tram is a short walk and easy to use. A very pleasant stay here our only negatives were the housekeeping came very early (10am most days) and we were charged for a breakfast which we did not have.
