Wonderful stay
The hotel was a brilliant place to stay. Its location isn't ideal for Amsterdam, however it's only a 20 minute tram journey from the city centre. The beds are amazing, you'll have a great nights sleep!

'Pasta Bar' was a smal restaurant near the central rain ration alongside a canal is an absolute bargain for lunch or dinner. It's Italian cuisine with a decent variety of choices.

great value for money
We stayed at the hotel only for one night and it was very pleasant. The room is spacious but it was very dusty and one of the towels was dirty. The parking was also very expensive €19.50/ day. Overall a good hotel.

Great hotel.
The hotel is very modern and is all about Dutch designers. It is located near the Mexx headquarters and IBM. It is in a business park and not close to many restaurants. The food is very good at the restaurant DeStijl. Breakfast is €16.50 if you pay at checkin. I thought the selection was great and the food was fresh. If you want something different the office buildings have reasonably priced coffee shops ha are accessible. We had coffee at the Mexx building. Airport is €4 and Amsterdam centrum is €2 by bus. Both are 20 minute bus rides and stop very close to hotel.

Hotel has good food but if you want something different there are coffee shops nearby. A short walk away is a residential are and on the other side is a pizza place, a bar and an amazing little Suriname take away with good food called DaNu's

Great hotel !!!!!!
Me and my partner stayed here at beginning of jan 2013. It was well worth the money. Very well designed rooms, very comfortable. Was about 10 mins walk from nearest tram station and around 25 mins on tram to city centre however very cheap travel. I would recommend this hotel. Staff seemed to be well knowledgable of surrounding areas and helpful. Thank you artemis hotel for a lovely trip away....

Not too far from Centrum
The hotel's location is about 5 km from the center, and the walk over is quite nice. I would suggest taking a cab ride to learn the route and take the risk of touring the town on feet to get a good mix of all the different zones.

my stay at this hotel
Very clean and tidy but didnt realise how far it was from the center and on the last night. The staff gave me a bus time table that only ran mon to fri and told me that buses ran on weekends when they didnt. And when i got back to the room and realised this i went back to reception and she booked at taxi for the next morning that cost us €25 euros. They dont tell you all the add ons. Also €50 deposit that we wasnt told about so more money to spend. But overall it was a nice hotel.

Overall good experience
Relatively new property. Good value for Amsterdam. Very large, comfortable beds. Shower only (no tub). No carpeting on wooden room floors allows potential of noise from upstairs neighbors. Unusual opaque glass bathroom door, part of some of those "Dutch design" touches to this place. Out of the way location, nothing around the hotel except office buildings, which may not be to everyone's liking. 10 minute walk to #2 tram (Louwesweg or Johan Huizingalaan stations) - difficult to do with luggage and quite hard to find hotel. Don't expect taxis at tram stop - relatively desolate area but safe. Note: cheap airport buses (#195) go directly to hotel - nice - but do not run on weekends!!! Also note: "Unilimited" transit pass for some reason does NOT include the bus right behind the hotel (#145) which conveniently connects to downtown but runs only twice an hour. So if you want to use this nearby bus option, it may not be cost effective to buy the transit pass. I found the tram (and 10 minute walk) and the pass the best way to get around (especially without luggage), and avoided that bus.

Several restaurants deliver food to hotel at reasonable prices. Good option since there are no restaurants or food stores within walking distance of hotel (except the restaurant in the hotel).
