Great location.
Great location. Close to everything, like shopping, Museums, Train station. Nice fitness center at the Hotel. Quiet, even tho the Hotel is in the center of Amsterdam.

Great Spot
Great location. Great and attentive staff. Nicely remodeled rooms. Unfortunate that you cannot take advantage of all amenities until after remodeling in August 2009.

Fantastic experience -- highly recommend
[...], the manager of this hotel, couldn't have been more helpful and forthcoming with suggestions. He recommended an authentic and popular Dutch dinner spot we never would have found without his help -- and the dinner turned out to be a highlight of our trip. Pieter also recommended a bar for New Year's Eve that we felt immediately at home in -- a warm, welcoming atmosphere with delicious olliebolen (Dutch NYE pastry), free-flowing champagne, and a friendly crowd. [...] suggestions took our trip from simply great to truly extraordinary.Also -- this hotel is ideally located just steps from Centraal Station, the entire place is spotless and appears to have been recently renovated, and the beds promote restful slumber (seriously, the beds will spoil you). Can't recommend it enough!

Try Kantil de Tiger on Spuistraat for delicious Indonesian food! Be sure to make a reservation -- this place is always busy, even on Sunday nights.

Great hotel in Amsterdam!!!
The hotel was in a great location. We took the train from Paris. The hotel is within walking distance from the Central Train station (even with luggage). We visited the Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Anne Frank Museums.

The getaways
Just one night
After 12 days jumping around Europe this was our last night before departure to the US. The hotel was in a perfect location and our room was the largest one we enjoyed. Great stay and fair price for the comfort.k

Class Act. Highly Recommend!
We had 5 rooms here for a week and we can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. Amsterdam is usually known to be "Dutch Friendly" (nice, but a little cold). However, the hotel staff here exceeded all our expectations and beyond and could not have been more pleasant, professional and friendly. We all noticed and commented on it many times. For the past several years we have stayed across the street at the Rennaisance which is also nice, however, we plan to return to the Crowne Plaza from now on without any hesitation. PSST... If you are a priority club member with Holiday Inn status, you may get access to a club room that they do not tell you about unless you ask. (red key card) It has coffee, beer, wine, cheese, snacks etc. and is a perfect getaway spot.

The hotel restaurant was surprisingly excellent! New Dorrius. We liked so much we ate their twice. I also HIGHLY recommend the Italian restaurant across the street, but be sure to make reservations, DO NOT expect to walk in. AVOID Dragon Corner Chinese across the street. They serve shark fin soup and the place smells of vomit.

Location Excellent. 2 min walk to train station and right in the heart of the shopping district. Lots of restaurtant and pubs within easy reach of hotel. Reception staff very helpful with directions to all the sites to see in town. Tram stop right outside front door. Lots of space in room especialy when you have 2 lge suitcases and a number of smaller bags.

Location is convenient, about 8 minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station and within walking distance to Dam Square. Hotel staff friendly and helpful; room size moderate for a couple. The most lovely thing is hotel room very quiet. We ordered in room dinner and found the fish very palatable, time for delivery also fast. Overall a recommendable stay in Amsterdam, only minor defect is drinking mug not very clean (still green tea stink from our last night use apparently) but I used to clean mugs before using them in any of the hotels. I give Crowne Plaza Hotel Amsterdam 95 marks overall (4 night stay from Aug 7~11, 2011).
