DON'T BELIEVE THE PICTURES

I booked this hotel based on the photos; however, when we arrived it was obvious that the pics were of another hotel and not ... this one. the first photo you see are of the actual outside of the hotel; however, when you click to see more photos it's a very different hotel you see set on a river with a boat taxi to take you up and down the river! this hotel was nice, clean, staff friendly, but it's not the hotel i booked!

Overall a good hotel but the shuttle service is not free from the hotel to the airport. It is only free from the airport to ... the hotel.

The hotel has a free shuttle to take you from Schipol to the hotel. It runs every 30 minutes. The return trip will cost you ... 7.50 Euros (about $10). I strongly suggest you use the train instead. For about $1 Euro, you can get between the hotel and the Airport. For about 4.5 Euros the train will take you into Amsterdam Central. The train station is to the left of the hotel (Hoopddorf station) and takes exactly 8 minutes to walk there. As for the hotel, it was clean, spacious and comfortable. The rooms are well appointed and, for the price I paid (via Orbitz) a real steal. This room was half the cost of the Renaissance in downtown Amsterdam. I know as I've stayed at both. For the money and creature comforts, I would stay at this Renaissance (Hoopddorf) over the one downtown.

My review of Crowne Plaza Hotel AMSTERDAM-SCHIPHOL

The Crown Plaza in Sciphol was a very enjoyable place to stay. The stay was very friendly and extremely helpful. The bed was ... the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, more comfortable than my Simmons backcare mattress!! It was so comfortable that I drifted off with in moments of laying down, amazing! The staff happily answered any questions we had and even printed us a map for the location of the local library and shopping plaza. Our room had a safe which was great for storing our valuables when out on the town. It also had a mini-fridge which was nice, but it didn't have a very large storage space for us (the majority of the fridge was the mini-bar) which was ok since we didn't really have much that needed refrigeration anyway. The room had a large desk and lots of lighting. The tv even had hook ups for our ps2 and additional inputs for a computer & audio system. My only complaint is that the lighting in the bathroom didn't seem sufficient, if they were to install just one more light over the sink then it would be perfect. The location is about a 20 minute ride via the train to Amsterdam Central station. It was a quiet and peaceful area which was fine for us since we basically only returned to the hotel to sleep. Overall, a very nice place.

The hotel was good, I was extremely disappointed that the hotel we stayed. The hotel is located rather far from Amsterdam, ... plus free shuttle to the hotel but not on the return trip was a surprise to us.
