Casa 400 is easy to get there, transportation by bus and train is just two blocks away. If you want to travel and visit other cities in Europe you have also the bus enterprise in Amstel Station. The area is safe, the place is quiet and clean. I
would recommend it.
I stayed at this hotel while attending a conference in the southern part of Amsterdam. It was clean and modern, and very close to Amstel station, which made it relatively accessible. My biggest gripe was just that the pillows were
For a business trip, I think this is a functional hotel and pretty good value for money. Unfortunately, it doesn't have any reasonably priced restaurants nearby (the hotel restaurant and the three I know of that were within 5-10 min walking distance were all quite expensive). However, if you're not planning to spend most of your time in the area, that's not a major setback. Also, if you are coming as a tourist, be aware that it is not very central location, and you will likely need to use public transport to reach the city centre. Amstel station has buses, trams, and metro though, so it is absolutely doable.
This hotel is a little out of the city, but is well served by public transport. The room was larger than expected, comfortable and clean. Room was made nicer by modern decoration, tea and coffee making facilities, and a fridge.
I would recommend
this for anyone on a budget who would like a good nights sleep between exploring.
Hotel features (5 = best, 1 = worst):
The hotel sells Iamsterdam cards - good value IF you want to do lots of museums, and use public transport. Beware that it doesn't include everything, but definitely e ought to keep you busy for 2-3 days.
Modern style, free wireless and a good restaurant (though rather expensive).
A narrow single bed in my single room. Good 3-star hotels normally offer a double bed to single visitors.
Police sirens were waking me up a
few times a night. According to a receptionist, the police station is round the corner, therefore all rooms facing the street are affected. The earplugs they give for free unfortunately did not help.
I would highly recommend this hotel. Our rooms were not particularly large but that would be my only minor criticism. The hotel was clean and fresh, the staff very friendly and helpful, location very good - 5 minutes walk from Amstel metro
station. Had a great time.
