Good Location, a bit pricey for what you get.

Room was small, but that seems to be normal for europe, double was fine for me, but it could be tight for two. Halls were like a maze to find the room. It was more expensive when compared to other options, but not by much(except for the weekend), and it was a nice, safe, quiet room. Friday and Saturday rates jumped up to double from the rest of week rates were so be aware when pricing a trip. City Tax was about 30% more than was expected as listed on online receipt. Wifi is not free, but 5 euro per day, and is something you have to log into again and again if left idle for more than 15 minutes and only one device at a time. Central Train Station is super close. Redlight is literally a block away if that's your thing, and coffeeshops, bars, and restaurants are all up and down Warmoesstraat so it is a popular spot.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is an ice cream/gelato shop on right on Warmoesstraat on your left as you walk in the direction of Dam Square. They have Stroopwafel Ice Cream. We're not talking vanilla with bits of Stroopwafel in it, actual Stroopwafel flavor, with of course bits of Stroopwafel put in for good measure. They also sell stacks of fresh Stroopwafel, and did I mention the Stroopwafel?

Unbeatable location

Hotel is located in the middle of the red light district which is also in the heart of Chinatown, and the city center. My single room was very small but clean. Hotel was safe and truly convenient especially after a long night out.

Convenient, Small

The hotel has been renovated and re-branded in 2009. They have taken historic buildings and modernized them to the extent possible. My "small double" was just adequate for one person; I'm not sure how two would fit or function there. The hotel's wi-fi system isn't all that reliable, but there are two free wired terminals in the basement. The walk from Central Station was easy, even with heavy luggage, and there are good restaurants close by. The hotel has no restaurant, but they do have reasonably priced convenience food available in the lobby.

Nice clean basic hotel

Hotel is close to Amsterdam Central station, easy to find on the outskirts or Red Light district. Rooms are small, did not bother me; shower is nice and surprisingly big. You can hear some noise from the street, quite loud at a time, did not bother me a lot as I was tired after walking all day long. Free internet in the basement. They allow you to leave your luggage there if you arrive before check in time.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Buy canal bus hop on hop off day ticket, great way to see city and they have audio presentation as you travel along canals 22 euros for the whole day. (make sure this is canal bus, not canal tour, as tours usually 2 hours and cost almost the same)

Great for the price

The hotel is conveniently located in the so-called "Redlight District" and near the Central Station. There are good restaurants and souvenier stores about, and the canals and reasonably priced tours to go on.

One Day Stop in Amsterdam

The hotel was in a great location; a five minute walk from the central train station. With plenty of restaurants, bars and the red light district, there is something for almost everybody within walking distance. The room was small, but it's Europe, so it was not a surprise. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and no loud noises made it a great night.
