Location excellent, staff helpful, room small

My experience was pleasant. The staff was extremely helpful and the location was perfect for visiting the Van Gogh and Riks Museum. Also, the tram and bus connections were very convenient for destinations other than the museum district. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Small but Tiny Hotel

Although the hotel rooms are small, they are clean and the hotel location is ideal. The price is comparable to hotels ns other major cities. The staff was very helpful in getting us tickets to various sites and in showing us how to get around.

1st Amsterdam trip

We checked in early, they accomodated our luggage while we started going around the city. The person that checked as in was very helpful in giving us directions. The breakfast was somewhat expensive but convenient. The location was nice and quiet but close enough to attractions. Will stay here again.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

Learn the map well. The canal hop on/off ride is good but still need to know your general locations otherwise you'll end up walking a lot.

Nice, but aloof and far from the action

Bilderberg Jan Luyken is on a charming street, and the superior room was well-appointed, but it was far from the action and they charged extra for everything! An hour of internet service was 7 euros. Breakfast (which we declined) was 20 euros per person. They couldn't even make us a reservation at the Anne Frank House - we had to pay for internet and printer usage at a lobby portal. Next time, we would look for a hotel in the Spui or Westermarkt sections.

Sightseeing tip: Long walk from hotel

If you're in good shape, take a tour of the church steeple at Westerkerk in Amsterdam. It's many stairs, but an adventure with great views of city.

A great place to stay

The hotel is situated very close to the Museumplein and a tram line to the centre of Amsterdam passes nearby. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. If breakfast is not included and you want to eat in the hotel, order it the night before and you'll save €4.50pp - it's not cheap but the quality is high. Rooms are clean and comfortable.

Lovely Hotel, Great Location!

This is a lovely hotel that my wife and I spent 3 nights at. It is ideally situated close to a nice area for wining & dining as well as designer shopping if that's your thing. As with most areas in Amsterdam the hotel is close to tram stops and a short walk to the nearest canal boat stop. Plenty of museums close by and lovely parks to walk through. Will definitely go back.

A must location

Located on a quite street in the most prestigious area of Amsterdam and yet only a short walk to major sites, the best shopping, restaurants and night life. A small boutique hotel with a very accomodating staff. Rooms are small but comfotable. A great place to stay

Ideal location

Ideal location. Easy to reach by bus 197 direct from the airport (approx 30 mins). Just off Museumplein (Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum, Concergebouw etc) and close to the lovely Vondelpark. Easy walk into the centre of Amsterdam in a few minutes and easy access to buses and trams for travel further afield. Not close to railway station but as we arrived by air this was fine. Very polite and helpful staff. Free wi-fi which was very welcome. (Breakfast was an expensive extra so we didn't have that in the hotel.) Excellent room. We were three sharing (two adults and 16 year old child). Extra bed was provided in room and there was plenty of space. Nice extras such as toiletries and bath robes and slippers. Comfortable beds. Very good value and would recommend to others and would use again.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Eating out all the time is expensive in Amsterdam. We were on a budget so used the AH supermarket on Museumplein for lunch sandwich provisions.
