Good Location

The location was great to visit the city. Most attractions were in walking distance and the trams were around the corner. The hotel was nice but the room and bathroom were small for a double room. Two persons in the room made for tight living.

Always bring cash fir dining and entertainment as many cards are not accepted. Cards with a chip and a pin are required. Ameeican Express works in Hotels but few other places. Call you bank before you leave abd tell them where you will be so they don't lock your ATM card.

Best Time at Best Western Apollo AMS

Although this was not the highest end hotel I have ever stayed at, the Best Western Apollo Museum Hotel was a quite good, respectable hotel. The staff was great and helpful at whatever asked. The room, though it was small, was clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet too- which I did not expect, given that it's located on a busy street in the museum district. The hotel is conveniently located close to transportation and the museums (which is why I had originally chosen it) and this proved perfect. The only thing I did not like was the door on the bathroom being made of frosted glass (!!)- the frosted glass door provided NO privacy in that very small room. A bathtub would have been heavenly, rather than just the shower, as well, but I knew ahead that the room had just a shower anyway.

A 24 hour hop-on/hop-off canal bus ticket is worth the money. There are several companies- think they were all priced about the same. Access to these canal tours gives a great city overview and background history.
