Brilliant break with partner & friends

Would recommend Tue, Feb 2, 2016
Location was very central and everything is within walking distance. Hotel was brilliant, staff were excellent and couldn't do enough for you. All inclusive is a lovely touch as you don't have to worry about charges to your room at the end! Room was very clean and breakfast was also delicious!! All in all not a bad word to say about this hotel (and I am a fussy traveller).

Great Weekend Away

Would recommend Tue, Jan 19, 2016
Loved every facet of this hotel. It had character in buckets. It's such a cool idea having free snacks/cheese/alcohol in the lobby (AND the mini bar!). It made for a really nice atmosphere all the way through the hotel. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Really comfortable memory foam beds and a good rainfall shower. Would 100 recommend this place.

Just back from a great weekend in Amsterdam. Banks Mansion was the perfect place to stay. The staff where welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. The room was comfortable and the selection of wine and cheese each evening was fantastic. One of the best weekends my wife and I have had great city and a great hotel.

Beautiful little hotel in the middle of Ansterdam. Staff were so friendly & helpful & the bar was always fully stocked. Do the Micropia museum (it's fantastic!!) & don't bother with the Heineken 'Experience'!! Beautiful city, can't wait to go back soon.

Great stay in Amsterdam

Would recommend Tue, Oct 27, 2015
This hotel is perfectly located not far from any of the attractions. Also convenient to the trams. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was very nice, and loved having access to the room's minibar and lobby bar as part of the inclusive room rate. The morning breakfast was outstanding with a very good selection. All of this does come at a hefty price, though, and that may be the one negative. While it was all very nice, the rates may still be a little overpriced for value, but that also fluctuates considerably depending on WHEN you book. It cost me over $450 more to shift my reservation back one week. YIKES!

Banks Mansion fulfilled all of our expectations. We will stay here again on a future trip to Amsterdam. Our room was comfortable, the staff was very welcoming and helpful, the evening wine and cheese was a wonderful way to unwind after spending many hours walking around the old city. The location is very convenient. The breakfast assortment was plentiful and very good. Thanks for a wonderful visit!

Friendly, efficient comfort

Would recommend Mon, Aug 3, 2015
We booked this hotel because it offered a full breakfast, snacks, and drinks in the hotel lobby, or living room as the staff like to call it. We arrived tired from our long trip. The gentleman who checked us in, sat down with us in comfortable leather chairs and gave us a map of Amsterdam, circling various sites and museums he recommended. Since we arrived at 10:30 am, we understood that our check-in wouldn't be until 3:00pm, but our room was ready at 1:00pm, which was a welcome surprise. We were also upgraded to a junior suite on the first floor, which was fine for us. We had no view, but none was expected at booking, and we had a comfortable King sized bed, a soaking tub and separate shower, flat screen TV, WiFi, two chairs and a desk/bureau. The furnishings were a little quirky and thrown together, but they fit in the home-spun ambience the hotel achieves. We felt completely at home, sitting in the living room having a glass of wine, a beer, or a soda. They also keep the mini-bars in each room completely stocked. Everything in the mini-bar is free. There is no added charge for this. There's also a cappuccino coffee machine in the lobby for early risers. Breakfast is served downstairs and it contains an extensive selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, fresh juices, cereals, milk, and a second cappuccino machine.Omelettes or French toast are made to order. It's all delicious. Local delicacies have signs that offer a description of the food, the name, and correct pronunciation. The front desk offers tickets for sale to museums, and other activities. TIP: Within walking distance we recommend Incanto Italian restaurant which has excellent canal views and great food. Also, for more contemporary Holland cuisine, try the excellent Spelt Restaurant, just across the bridge. Both of these restaurants were staff recommendations, and they were top notch.
