good hotel shame about the staff!

Clean hotel in a good location, free wifi although didn't work on my partners phone. Only problem was the rude staff. In our room our telly was locked in child mode meaning we had to listen to dutch news, couldn't change channel, volume and the power button didn't work. The only way of turning the telly off was to turn all the electricity off in our room, meaning no lights. We had pre-paid for our room when booking online but when checking out the receptionist charged us a further 70 euros, meaning we had now paid twice, he tried claiming we didn't have a reservation either. After 20 minutes of arguing with the man he gave us our money back. we proved we had already paid, i forwarded him the the confirmation email i had received but apparently this didn't mean anything I have stayed in best western hotels in the past and have been very pleased with the service provided. Very disappointed with the customer service at this hotel.

great place

The hotel is in a great location, quiet but only 2 minutes walk in to town. The room was a little small but clean and had everything we needed. The staff were fantastic and could not do enough for you. I would stay here again.

Cozy Little Nook

I found this hotel to be very economic. It's not a very large living quarter but it's clean, cozy and convenient to the muesuem district as well Liedseplein. Tram stops are all around and food choices are close by. The hotel breakfast is decent, typical continental. Free WiFi, staff is helpful. Minus the small living space this hotel gets my approval.

Excellent location for museums and galleries

Some initial problems over room booking were resolved quickly. Staff were friendly. The hotel is ideally located for Van Gogh and Rijks galleries and very convenient for travel to other locations in city. Scaffolding externally could have been problem but really no issue over noise just spoiled view over one side of room.

Money-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

The cost of taxis is not that expensive and whilst a canal tour is advised if you want to travel quickly I would suggest a taxi to a location and possibly a walk back as the city centre really is not that large.

1st trip to Amsterdam

This was my first trip to Amsterdam and I wasn't really sure where to stay. The hotel was right next to the musuems so that I could walk there. Tram stop close by to get me to the other parts of town. Hotel was clean & the staff friendly. Several good places to eat within walking distance. Would recommend the hotel to any friends heading that way.
