a nice hotel for a reasonable price

We stayed at the Avenue hotel for 3 nights. Shopping and alot of sightseeing and going to museums. Our room was quite small, but all in all comfortable enough to sleep and rest our feet in. The bathroom could've been a bit more clean, but hey the shower worked well and towels got changed. A bit squeaky but comfortable beds. The staff were really friendly and helpful! Breakfast buffet was pretty ordinary, but the food was good enough. Terribly slow elevator! I'd recommend staying at this hotel for a few nights if you're planning a visit in the lovely town.

ideal hotel for exploring Amsterdam

Just a 2 minute walk from central station. This hotel is perfectly situated for exploring the sights of Amsterdam. The room was small and maybe a little dated but that caused us no problems whatsoever. The staff were polite and helpful. We had an issue with the room safe, but a quick call to reception led to 2 staff members coming to the room within minutes to resolve the problem. Breakfast was excellent. A choice of cold meats. Cheese various bread rolls. Croissants, cereals. Fruits juices and fruits. Bacon, eggs, beans etc. I gave no problem recommending this hotel to anyone looking for somewhere central at a good price. We will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Amsterdam

Great breakaway

Very good value for money, staff were extremely pleasant from the receptionist to waiting on staff in dinning room. Room although small was more than adequate for our sightseeing trip. The Hotel was in a great location just around the corner from Dams Square and easily walkable from the Main Train station. The breakfast was plentiful and more than enough choice for anybody. We would defiantly return to this Hotel should we return to Amsterdam. All in all excellent.

Nice Hotel

Hotel is a good location. Best to catch the tram to the train station if you have luggage. Wifi is good, service is good. Bathroom seems old and run down though.

Close to dam square

The location is excellent but my room was kinda small and being a large person 6'4" it wasn't very comfortable. Excellent breakfast.

Complimentary breakfast, Upgraded room, Good Staff

Stayed one night. Staff was great, room was average, breakfast was better than usual. Only issues were TV channel selection in room was awful, and perhaps a visit from pest control will help with the mice.

Great Location

We ended up at this hotel not knowing how great the location was. On the map it seemed a bit out of the way but actually ended up to be within walking distance of the main train station, trams across the street and the city center while also being a bit quieter. Reserve a room on a higher floor for more light. The staff was friendly, breakfast was fine nothing special. We requested a double bed and ended up with two singles pushed together - that was a disappointment. The beds were comfortable. If you are planning to spend your time out in the city, this is a great choice! I would stay here again.

Nice hotel, great location

4 of us shared the split level maisonette room which was clean and tidy with comfortable beds which was just what we needed after exploring all the sights of Amsterdam. The staff were helpful and friendly and check in/out was quick. Location is ideal as it's a 5 min walk from the station and although we walked to all the main sights the tram stop is straight across the road. Breakfast was really good value with a buffet choice of English and/or continental. I have stayed in Amsterdam 4 other times and for the price I paid it was by far the best value for money.

Dining tip: Long walk from hotel

There is a street just off the Leidesplein, about a 25 min walk from the hotel which is full of restaurants all competing for business between 5-7. We managed to get pizza and a pint for €10 which is great value.

Great Location for First-Time Visitors

The hotel is in a great location. You can go walking to must-see areas such as Jordan, Central Station, and the historic district. Rooms are small but since you'll be out it really doesn't matter. If you are looking for a place just to go to sleep and get some rest, go for it!
