Great Location for First-Time Visitors

The hotel is in a great location. You can go walking to must-see areas such as Jordan, Central Station, and the historic district. Rooms are small but since you'll be out it really doesn't matter. If you are looking for a place just to go to sleep and get some rest, go for it!

In the Jordan Area you will see typical Dutch brown cafes and locals living their day-to-day lives.

The coffee in the hotel is not great. I really enjoyed the Brazilian coffee shop down the street towards Dam Square.

Good resting point for my wife and I.

Great facilities. All you want hotel. Took the wife away for her birthday and had a great time. Clean comfortable pleasant hotel only a couple of minutes walk from our favourite bars. And the breakfast buffet was excellent. Just what was needed for the two 'mornings after'

Fine but nothing special

The location is great - in the heart of Amsterdam and close to the station. The room was clean and tidy but very small - so much so that the sink was actually next to the bed. Breakfast was included and was perfectly acceptable but I wouldn't have paid for it if it was an extra. The staff were great - very friendly and helpful. It could do with a bar or something like that, to meet people in the evening or just to relax on the way back home. I would stay here again if the price was right - but I doubt it would be my first choice.

Terrible

I don't know which was worse: the total lack of service, the absence of any amenities (including a single bar of soap), the lack of adequate light for reading (even in the daytime), et cetera. The hotel probably beats a bench in the park, but not by much.

a nice hotel for a reasonable price

We stayed at the Avenue hotel for 3 nights. Shopping and alot of sightseeing and going to museums. Our room was quite small, but all in all comfortable enough to sleep and rest our feet in. The bathroom could've been a bit more clean, but hey the shower worked well and towels got changed. A bit squeaky but comfortable beds. The staff were really friendly and helpful! Breakfast buffet was pretty ordinary, but the food was good enough. Terribly slow elevator! I'd recommend staying at this hotel for a few nights if you're planning a visit in the lovely town.

Functional Hotel

The hotel has a great location, 2 blocks from the main train station, close to the canal downtown area and Dam square. Breakfast wasn't the best, but there was a lot of variety and they did not run out of things. Staff was very helpful and multi-lingual. Room was clean but had no extra amenities such as a hair dryer or an iron. Good value for the price.

Ideal hotel for that short break away

Excellent location, turned on my satellite GPS to find the hotel from Central station but this was not necessary as the hotel was a 5 min walk. Brilliant breakfast and the hotel itself was cosy and welcoming.
