Filled with Elegance and Style!

A truly great location with great connections to central station a 7 minute tram ride direct to the Hotel. LeideSquare is happening with good restaurants and an amazing walk filled with shops all the way to Dam Square! The Hotel is filled with Elegance and style very clean and friendly. Breakfast can be pre booked for 15 euro but well worth it! An amazing grand dining room filled with Smoked salmon, meats, cheeses, eggs cooked however, pastries, fresh juices, proseco!! And bread fresh from the bakery. Pure indulgence!

I don't recommend

The rooms were shabby, dirty walls and tiny rooms. I had to move twice - once b/c my room looked like it belonged in a basement and the 2nd time b/c I came back at midnight and they had a full blown party going on at their restaurant and my room (non smoking) smelled like an ashtray! If you can believe it, they thought it was acceptable to inconvenience a guest like this simply by sending out a "letter" to your room! The front desk gave me a hell of a time switching rooms, lying that they were fully booked, just b/c they didn't want to move me to a higher price range! If I wasn't pregnant I don't even know if they would have done so at all... I go to Amsterdam regularly on business, love the city, but will NEVER stay in this or any Eden hotel again.

Terrible

"Bad service, ugly room, expensive/bad internet, dirty" A long wait at reception (room was booked ahead of course - 'we're looking for an extra noce room for you, when I asked', otherwise the lady just tapped at her screen for minutes without any comment) yielded an ugly, stuffy room with a small, stuck window. It was dirty, there was a plastic sheet over the mattress, the minibar (no expense spared there, it's electronically monitored!) excruciatingly expensive... the location is great and that's all there's to be said about this place. Never again.

Never Again!

I have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times before and was quite pleased with it. The hotel is now dirty, noisy and under construction. The restaurant is very expensive with one of two meals ordered was uneatable.

Love the customer service

2nd stay in the same area on a business trip, the location was great, the service was very good. The rooms were a little small, as was the workout area. Breakfast was a single 20 Euro option for a continental buffet. I would have been happy with a less expensive option for just oatmeal and cereal.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you are in search of some inexpensive cuisine, try the Wok to Walk, a short walk from the hotel up the street on Leidsestraat (to the left).

Nice hotel, great location and staff

We spent 3 nights before taking a cruise. The location is close to parks, museums, canal cruise, bars, and many restaurants. We were able to walk everywhere. The room was clean and well equipped. The bars in the hotel are interesting. The staff was courteous and helpful. We loved Amsterdam and when we return we will stay here again. No complaints.

Location, location, location!

The location of this hotel is ideal. We were able to easily walk to everything...Anne Frank, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, a wonderful canal boat experience (recommended by the hotel), the big park south of the hotel,a wonderful very active evening outdoor area just next to the hotel. It was very cold and even snowy when we were there, but, being so close in, we were able to experience the outdoor fun city life. Everyone is outside...even riding bikes...in the cold. For me, the highlights of the hotel were the history and the restaurant. It is a fascinating historic site, as told in a large display on the wall. And, the restaurant has the most romantic atmosphere I have ever felt...AND the best brownies!! They also have a very relaxing bar and lounge.
