And bread fresh from the bakery. Pure indulgence!

Location, location, location!

The location of this hotel is ideal. We were able to easily walk to everything...Anne Frank, Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Monet, a wonderful canal boat experience (recommended by the hotel), the big park south of the hotel,a wonderful very active evening outdoor area just next to the hotel. It was very cold and even snowy when we were there, but, being so close in, we were able to experience the outdoor fun city life. Everyone is outside...even riding bikes...in the cold. For me, the highlights of the hotel were the history and the restaurant. It is a fascinating historic site, as told in a large display on the wall. And, the restaurant has the most romantic atmosphere I have ever felt...AND the best brownies!! They also have a very relaxing bar and lounge.

In the heart of Amsterdam

This is my first of many trips to Amsterdam and I'm glad I selected Eden Amsterdam American Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the city. It is within walking distance to museums, shopping, entertainment and a bevy of restaurants and transportation (trams, buses, bikes, canal boats, etc). When staying at Eden hotels make sure you tell your driver specifically which Eden hotel, as there are many throughout the city.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Take the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel, it's 15.50 Euro one-way. Tickets are available inside Shiphol airport at the ticket booth behind Starbucks or can be purchased on board, best to buy in advance, otherwise you're waiting until everyone else gets on board the 8 passenger vehicle. Trams and taxis are also available from the low to high end 4 to 50 Euro one-way for about a 20 minute ride.

Great Stay!

This beautiful old hotel is being remodeled, and I was originally given a room that had not been upgraded yet; also, they were doing work right outside my window so it was noisy. I called down to the desk, they immediately got me another room. The new room had already been upgraded and was bigger and brighter than my original -- they had actually bumped me up a tier at no extra charge. Throughout the stay the staff was extremely helpful, and the location could not have been better. It is within walking distance of lots of restaurants, squares, museums, & the flower market. I got a 24-hour tram pass and the tram stop is right outside the hotel door. Also there are two canal tour companies that have stops right outside the hotel door too. Free wi-fi was a bonus!

great location

Convenient location right next to several tram stops. (Very easy to use; cash accepted on board and change made.). Don't bother with airport shuttle or cabs; just take the train and then tram--cheap and fast. Inexpensive RT canal tours available right below the hotel. Lovely ride that takes about 2 hours. Can hop off at museum stops too, or stay on for asnlong as you want.

Fun Trip

Hotel was great especially the staff. Always wanting to please. We arrived early and the desk clerk not only stowed our baggage while we visited around but also got us into our room about 4 hours early. She was great! The food in the restuarant was excellent but pricey. The hotel history is amazing if you're into design and architecture. The location is in the heart of the city and easy to get buses (right out front) or canal transportation which is only steps away. I would return again. For those however who like to smoke the weed, the hotel has a strong prohibition so it's excellent for the family vacation.

Mostly Very Good

The price during the low season was excellent. On the plus side: location couldn't be better, staff was very friendly and helpful, there is free WiFi and use of business center, and the bed was very comfortable. Things to improve are: elevators with only one call button stopping up and down needlessly, nice breakfast/dining room but hectic due to tv tapings at night, limited bathroom amenities, mini bar electronic and charges with simple movement (taken off when I called). Still overall a nice place to stay.
