The luxury beds are adjustable into every desired position and are operated by remote control. A personal alarm-system is available. Each room has a coffee/tea-maker and a minibar. The bathroom has either a full bath or a shower with thermostat-faucets and shower-bars. The toilet is especially suited for wheelchair-users - with specific height and depth.
Each room has a hairdryer and an adjustable shaving-mirror. - De Palatijn is situated only 15 minutes walking distance from the historical city center of Alkmaar.
With a variety of pleasant outdoor cafe, restaurants, boutiques, shops and museum, Alkmaar has a lot to offer ! On every first Sunday of the month from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., the shops in the town center are open.
From April to September the famous cheese market takes place every Friday morning on the Waagplein. The cheese market is held already since the 16th century and worth a visit.
If you are looking for more rest, you may walk on the beaches of Egmond and Bergen or visit the nearby woods and dunes. An excursion through the landscape of the "polders" brings you to lovely little villages and picturesque farms and wind mills.

- "De Palatijn" features an excellent al la carte restaurant with 60 seats. When the weather permits meals can be served on the lovely terrace by the water.
The restaurant is open from breakfast till after dinner drinks. Breakfast and lunch are served as an extensive buffet: Hotel's restaurant-staff will be pleased to assist you in making your choice.
Dinner is served as a daily changing menu. Hotel also offer a variety of a la carte courses. Guests can select from hotel's quality wines, various beers and other beverages.
