Exceptional location
Exceptional location but degraded infrastructure.It is the third time I go to this hotel and I see nothing improved.The access to the Internet is bad and only in lobby.There should be easy access in rooms. Breakfast very poor quality and bad service.Little cleaning tables and little attention from employees.Very high price for the services which are not justified only by its location

Vaishali Hotel
The staff is friendly, competent and very helpful. The rooms definitely need to be upgraded and be kept cleaner. Carpeting on the floor may not be the best thing as electricity goes off for 16hrs a day (that's what I was told at the time of my visit 4/09), so running a vacuum may not be a very efficient way to clean the floor.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Shopping begins right outside of the hotel gate - that was awesome. Please get all your shopping done as the prices are awesome and one hint although bargaining is good I feel like I am ripping those poor folks off. The only suggestion is if it's something you want do SOME bargaining but do get it as you will regret it later if you didn't. I bought a Nepalese singing bowl for Nepali RS200.00 which is about US$1.50 and found it on the internet when I got back to the US for US$135.00. OUTRAGEOUS the profit made by retailers here.

good value & location
Hotel was very convenient in north Thamel. Clean, quiet and great staff. TV did not work.
