Outdated 5 star hotel
Kenzi Semiramis is a large hotel with a large lobby, large restaurant, mature garden and large rooms. However, its decoration is a bit dated and needs major upgrade. Room facility is average. TV has poor reception and only a couple of English chanels. The reception staff did not look very friendly and seemed to look down on us. Perhaps we were not particularly well dressed. The hotel is also too far from the main attractions.

Excellent Respite
I have just returned from a magical 4 nights in Marrakech. My first point to make is that the Hotel is named Kenzi Semiramis and not Kenzi Semimaris [...]. The hotel was amazing. Its deco and design reflected everything that is Moroccan- beautiful art and crafts, including a very good souvenir shop. It is spacious and neat. I loved the many comfy seating areas on every floor. The grounds are breath taking with enchanting palm trees and other plants. The hotel offers a good selection of restaurants with different cuisine. The breakfast made my day every day. Good selection of breads, fruit, fresh juices, croissants, tarts, salads, savouries, particularly liked the mint tea served by a very pleasant breakfast lady ([...]). The rooms are huge with 2 comfy and clean double beds. The room is cleaned every day. The balcony offers a good space for chilling. The air con is effective. The hotel is well located from the airport and main sights and shopping areas. There is always 'petite taxis' available outside the hotel. Hotel reception is well informed about local information- French is essential to communicate in Morocco. There is a discotheque offering live Arabic music and dancing.I can honestly say that even if I never left the hotel to see Marrakech, I would not have minded just remaining in this lovely, restful, and beautiful hotel. Just be aware that the hotel charges (15 Dirham) for telephone calls to the airport to check on lost baggage- lost baggage seems to be a common occurence. It is not a courtesy call.

Dining tip:
Short drive from hotel
Do not eat at the Night Souk, especially number 42 - salads are uncovered with flies and meat used in the Tagine is cheap cuts- no taste and fatty. Do not let taxi drivers over charge you. Ask the hotel what the rate should be for your destination and be assertive and confident in sticking with this amount.

Good value friendly hotel
Hotel is a 10 minute taxi ride from the Medina, but no other way of getting downtown. There were no local supermarkets. The large pool is in a green palm tree garden setting, and is well attended. The food is OK, but for B&B guests, the extras (bottled water and buffet lunches) are fairly expensive. The rooms look a bit tired, but are clean and spacious. The staff are helpful. The guests are mainly French, so the hotel caters more to this language than to English speakers.

Shopping tip:
Short drive from hotel
The Medina and souks have everything that you could want, and if you are prepared to haggle you could get a bargain. Lots of touristy places to eat, at reasonable prices. Get a taxi from the hotel which has the meter tariff (cheaper) or negotiate a 25-40 Dirham ride.

super vacances

Short drive from hotel

Money-saving tip:
Long walk from hotel
