Stay Here!!!

I had a lovely four night stay at this hotel and it comes well recommended !! It is closely located to the train station for trains to Fez - Casablanca - Asila - Rabat :) I paid 240 Dirhams for a first class day return to Casablanca ! Lovely train and in good comfort! This hotel is also close to Supra Tours Coach Station - I bought a day return to Agadir for 200 Dirhams! This hotel comes well recommended!!

comfortable affordable accomodations

i stayed at this hotel in May 2012. It is about a 5 minute walk to the train station, restaurants and probably a 20-30 minute walk to the square. The first few nights i was in the hotel, there was an odor eminating from my bathroom shower's drain which was most likely sewage gas. I pointed this out to the management. They tried remedying the situation; however, after a few days, i requested another room and they cheerfully accomodated my request. The management at the hotel speak english and were quite friendly with helping me secure taxis to the airport, about 100MAD as well as giving me maps to tour the city. Next to the hotel, is a large supermarket which reminds me to the warehouse shopping clubs we have back in the USA. I would frequent this store to buy personal items and occasionally lunch and dinner from their deli area which was quite affordable when on a student budget. If u are on a budget, i recommend taking bus number 8 to the jama square for only 3.5 MAD instead of paying a taxi 4-5x that amount. The buses are clean, safe and prompt. You may have to wait a few minutes for one to arrive about one block from the hotel, but i have used it with no problems. The hotel has a pool which is free. It was a welcome relief in the hot days! Be aware that several hotels charge for using their pools and amentiies. Personally, being on a student budget, i skipped the breakfast package. you can buy breakfast next door at the supermarket for less than $2-4 for a nice croissant and juice, yougurt or a smoothie. Be aware that this hotel chain has several hotelts in close proximity. I was unfortunate to have been taken by taxi to the wrong hotel location and had to pay another 35MAD. The price of the hotel is reasonable for the nice room that hyou get get and the location to nearby restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget or with a family. Quite affordable, decent, clean accomdations and a few minutes walk to the main area where the train station, banks and american restaurants like McDonals and KFC are available as well as numerous hotels, restaurants, shops, and taxis to take u anywhere u want to go.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

save huge on food by purchasing meals from aswak as salaam grocery store next to hotel. They have a fresh food deli section offering sandwhiches, rotisserie chicken and wide varities of desserts as well as any groceries, sundries, and retail items you may like. take the bus to bypass the high taxi rates when the drivers don't use a meter...insist on a meter or fixed rate before getting in the car or take the bus, flat 3.5MAD. although the hotel has money exchange which is pretty good, the best exchange rates can be found in the bank inside the train station....train station is more like a beautiful mall with shoppes and restaurants inside like mcdonalds, kfc and local cuisine. don't pay more than 100MAD to go to airport or from airport. There are many local beggars who will ask for money. I am not one to judge who is deserving, but u may want to keep coins with low denominations of 1 dirham or less in sufficient quantities to give out. I unexpectedly gave out larger value coins which makes a difference when on a budget! last tip, eat before u go to the airport...prices are quite high for meals and if u have to go a few hours before to check in, u may want to stop in the supermarche or local cafe prior to leaving to the airport and if ur connecting in casablanca.....way more expensive for food, so take the necessary precautions.

What I expected for the price

The hotel was nice enough, not 4 star as compared to other countrys think 3 star. Staff were friendly enough and the room was cleaned everyday. The beds are very hard but you do get used to after a bit. My only major problem was the location of the hotel. It was not the same as advertised on the website ( its about 1/2 mile West of the train station on Ave Hassan II ). So it makes it a long walk to Gueliz and further to the Medina.

The taxis to and from the airport are a rip but you will have little choice but to pay up.
