"This small intimate hideaway satisfies all your senses"

In everyone's lifetime, they should experience a place like Casa Cuitlateca at least once. This small intimate hotel in Zihuatanejo satisfies all your senses. After a long trip, it was a pleasure being greeted by Alfredo's warm and friendly smile at the airport. After a short ride we arrived and were led across a suspension bridge to "Paradise". The views and architecture were breathtaking and the welcome drinks and guacamole were a nice touch Before we booked this vacation, I read all the positive reviews and was hesitant because it sounded too good to be true. After speaking to Barbara in reservations I felt better and booked our trip. Believe me Casa Cuitlateca is everything you've read about and so much more. The grounds are impeccable due to the hard work of Paulino. The sounds of nature surround you, while the beautiful birds, butterflies and flowers fill your day with color. You feel totally enveloped in a cocoon of peace and tranquility as your mind and body relaxes. We stayed in the Puebla Suite. It was large, cheerful and had the best mattress and pillows. It opened to a large private balcony with an incredible view of the bay. The suite was immaculate thanks to two lovely young women, Miriam and Angelika. The kitchen offered delicious food "MADE WITH LOVE" by Sylvia and Ileana. Starting the day with a satisfying full ala carte breakfast, with a great view and nothing to do could make you feel a bit guilty. The feeling passes while you decide whether you want to enjoy the sensational infinity pool that has an actual fish pond incorporated into it. Casa Cuitlateca is located 15 to 20 minutes from the beaches and the center of town. Plenty of cheap restaurants in town or along the beach. Cabs are abundant but walking is the way to go. There are a little over a hundred steps from the road up to the hotel. There are plenty of places to pause along the way and take in the beautiful scenery. Freshly picked mint that's grown on the premises make for the "BEST MOJITOS IN MEXICO" thanks to Ileana and Alfredo. The margaritas are not bad either. Overall the best drinks in Zihuatanejo. Ileana and Alfredo were always available to help, at the bar, in the restaurant or where needed. We found them to be knowledgeable, friendly and warm yet professional. Everyone made us feel at home. We had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Terry Cahill, the owner of Casa Cuitlateca, while we were there. It is obvious why Casa Cuitlateca works so well. Mr. Cahill treats this fabulous property as home and his staff as family, which in turn is reflected in the way they treat their guests. Providing the guests with a haven to relearn how to rest, love and relax. It worked for us, we’re home a week now, yet are still enjoying the calming effect of our 10 night stay. So before Casa Cuitlateca becomes a tourist spot, treat yourself to a little bit of heaven. Don't think about it, just do it!

A pearl in Paradise.

The Casa Cuitlateca was a surprising find in paradise. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel welcome and at home. The staff was amazing and catered to our every need and whim! There was nothing we longed for that was not provided. Quiet, lively and fun, all in one location! The trip started out as an exploration of a new location in Mexico but will definitely be added to places to return too! Can't wait to go back but will take much more time than a week on the next visit. A place we would take our children and grand children to on the next visit.

Fabulous place for couples and adults!

My wife and I were so impressed with the pictures and reviews of Casa Cuitlateca that we could hardly wait to be there. Well, it is way better when you arrive. The gardens, pools, recreational areas, rooms and views are breath taking. You do not get tire of taking pictures of this place. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with theme decorations from different states in Mexico. The staff was the best we ever had in any other place, especially [...]. They really invest themselves to make of your stay an unforgettable experience. The drinks are great! Do not forget to order a "cocoloco" it is very well prepared then the staff can cut it into pieces so you can eat it with lemon and chili pepper. The breakfast with the fresh fruit and juices among other things is superb. There is no schedule for the pool so you can enjoy it as early or as late as you want. You can visit the town or go to Ixtapa but we were so glad to stay at Casa Cuitlateca where we found a peaceful place to relax and enjoy our days.

There are taxis about 50 yards away from the hotel, always check with the staff at the hotel how much it will cost you to travel where you want to go. The taxi drivers may want to take advantage of you, so beware!

You MUST do Las Gatas... you can take a quick cab to the pier to catch the water taxi (for $3.50 US roundtrip) over to Las Gatas where you can get an hour massage for 200 pesos (about $20 USD). The water, the sun, and the friendly service at any of the restaurants that line the beach makes for a perfect day. The last boat back to Zihuat is at 5pm so make sure you get over there early enough...

Casa Cuitlateca - Hidden Gem!!

This was our first trip to Zihau, and we wanted someplace quiet, restful, small with great ambiance and views. What we found at Casa Cuitleteca was a Casa that felt like OUR Casa. The infinity pool is remarkable.... The rooms had a traditional Mexico feel with tile floors and we're simply elegant. Muchas gracias to the entire staff. We're hoping to return in February or April, 2011 to visit our nuevo amigos & amigas and enjoy breakfast poolside. This is the best place we've stayed in Mexico!

We Loved It!

From the welcome drink to the hugs goodbye, we can't say enough about our stay at Casa Cuitlateca. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful, relaxing, romantic getaway, then this is the place to be. The view is amazing and the breeze makes it even better! The service is top notch, even with a full house because there are only 5 rooms. Each couple can just do their own thing and it's very private. I thought that not having a TV in the room with bother us, but we didn't even notice. Also, you can't beat the breakfast, no one else offers that. One of the best vacations we have ever had. We will go back for sure!

great place, excellent quality

Beautiful place, unbelievable view of zihau bay, the staff are fantastic. Everything about the place was perfect. A lot of attention to detail in the design and decorating. We travel two or three times a year and stay in 4+ or 5 star hotels and this hotel tops them all hands down.

Unbelievable

Words (and pictures) simply can't describe this place. My wife and I just returned from a 4 night stay, and we've already planned a trip back down there. [...] turned out to be the choice of a lifetime. The views, the location, and the immaculate attention to detail at this hotel make it truly special. I can honestly say it was the most relaxing, peaceful place I've ever stayed. Another thing that sets this hotel apart is the amazing staff. It's like having a personal butler/concierge at your beckoned call 24 hrs a day. By the end of our trip, they all felt like close personal friends. Whether it was making us feel like a king and queen at the hotel, or arranging/suggesting activities for us in town...they were truly remarkable. I have already personally recommended this hotel to my entire email list. I honestly can't find a single negative thing to say about this place. Five stars all the way.

Consider skipping Las Gatas beach. Spend your beach time at La Ropa beach, because it is less crowded and prettier with much better sand (no rocks). Also, I highly recommend spending a morning going after a sailfish or Marlin. The seas are so calm off Zihua even the boat ride is relaxing. I caught an 8 foot sailfish and we had close up encounters with whales and porpoises. It was great.

Excellent

We are a couple in our late fifties. The hotel's stairs to the beach did not deter us. Zih itself is hilly, so anywhere one goes, stairs and climbs should be expected. Our stay at Casa C. was wonderful.
