Located right in the heart of the historic center, in front of the majestic baroque cathedral and surrounded by colonial monuments of incomparable architecture.

Our lobby is decorated with carved quarry stone and is a prime example of the city's baroque architecture. Located at Hidalgo Avenue, which is the main street in town. The guest rooms with balcony and terrace provide their guests with a magnificent view of the cathedral and Government Palace.

The hotel is surrounded by colonial buildings made of Cantera, the special pink stone representative from this part of the country, as well as the Bufa Hill and its famous Funicular rail way. You can take a nice walk nearby and experience the colonial architecture and traditions such as the Callejoneadas or the State Band performance every Thursday.

Close to the Eden Mine, which is one of the most visited Zacatecas attractions, and at the right zone for shopping and entertainment.

Hotel in the Historic Center

The Hotel Emporia is in a perfect location with a view of the cathedral, across from the Plaza de Armas. Included was a full buffet breakfast at no additional cost. You can walk to many fine restaurants and visit the many museums and historical sites. Do not miss taking a tour to the magnificent archaelogical site of quemada. We also watched the spectacular conclusion of the Festival International de Teatro de Calle.

Location, Location, Location

We were visiting Zacatecas for two days and this hotel really filled the bill for being close to most all of the cultural sites/activities in the area. We were 25 steps from an open air band concert our last night which was a nice surprise. The hotel public rooms were lovely, and the on-site parking (a small fee of 20 pesos per night) was great to have. Another nice surprise was free wireless internet in our room. Even without air conditioning, the fan and an open window in the fairly large room kept us comfortable at night. We ate in the hotel for one breakfast only; a buffet that included eggs made to order and a good fruit bar and assorted Mexican breakfast breads etc. There is a small exercise room that we didn't use, but appeared to be adequate for a "vacation" workout. Service was good throughout our stay. Most of the staff spoke enough English to understand and be understood. Staying in this hotel really added to our enjoyment of our stay in the city, and I would recommend staying here when visiting Zacatecas.

We had two great Italian meals while in the city, Tratoria Il Goloso and the other Saluti. Both are very close to the hotel and both, as they are in the historic district have minimal signage to actually find them. Make sure you check with the front desk and your maps to get to either of these.
