Festival Plaza Hotel Rosarito, MX>>>>STAY ANYWHERE ELSE BUT HERE

This hotel and thier backwards unexplainable policies were an insult to a paying guest....making the guests wear wrist bands (like they sell for a liquor bust at a bar) just to have access to the property. The security guards were just so rude. (with one exception of one nice guy who unfortunately has to work for festival plaza.) NO GUESTS were allowed to the room, even with permission from the guest. i checked out early and found a cheaper "normal" hotel which was great. FESTIVAL PLAZA NEEDS TO GET A CLUE. AND EVERYONE SHOULD WISE UP AND NEVER EVER NEVER EVER STAY HERE. TODD LEO FISCHER, HOLLYWOOD, CA

Not exactly as it seems

Checked in right at 3 pm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provide you with a wristband in order to enter the hotel which is good and bad. Good because there is security and you can't get into the hotel without it, bad because even visitors have to have a band and it costs an extra $16 even if they are not staying in the hotel. Parking was an extra $5 which was not mentioned but was valet and secure. I think the website gives a false impression that there actually are festival-like attractions that are located at the hotel which is not the case. Ferris wheel depicted has been rusted out for years. No AC in the rooms but we were able to open the window for a good ocean breeze. Overall, the stay was decent since we weren't staying in the room long but I'd say it was the bare bones of hotels.

Nice hotel but a bit pricy

They did not have my reservation and i was almost left out of a room. rooms are nice but a bit out dated and some of the sheets were old and torn. Hotel is in the heart of nite life close to the famous Papas and Beer Night Club.

Just a place to crash

Place is below average probably won't stay here again. Only because the rooms feel somewhat dirty. Carpet feels moist. No AC windows open breeze could explain it. Ensure to pack towels from home. The ones provided are dingy! Saved myself from that since I always pack my own. The towels I use to wash my car are cleaner than the ones provided. Check in was about a 15 minute process. All handwritten go figure. Check out you have to wait for your room to be inspected in order to receive a ticket that will allow valet to release your car that took about 25 mins. Oh and room floors seem dirty take some house shoes wear your sandals! Surfs up! What happens down in mexico stays in mexico.

You get what you pay for

Got a great deal for the location however hotel was out dated, no A.C, shower didn't work and towels looked like they had been used since the 80's!! Security guards at the door regulate the wrist bands to gain access to your room and no guest/visitors allowed at all times and if you wish to have another guest stay over night be prepared to pay $20 per person/night

Embarrassed & Upset

FYI i did check the reviews before booking this hotel. and wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt! For the 3rd year we go to rosarito for mother day weekend we travel around 20-25 people FAMILY and every one was mad at me because the hotel was Durty, Staff was not welcoming, rooms smells, blankets were old and burn marks, there is no room service /restaurant or any thing to get if you get hungry you have to go OUTSIDE and buy whatever you need.. They tag you with a bracelet at all times or they charge you... THE ONLY GOOD THING is the location... but Pool is very DURTY nothing else works.. NEEDS A GOOD REMODELING and better STAFF!
