Misleading amenities. Beach is useless. need food variety

We had a few problems with the Zoetry hotel. As a start, “the beach” was not clean / messy water, and it is a known problem that isn’t mentioned on the site or to the person staying (Only until one arrives and sees it) You Cannot go into the water at all. Zoetry should let you know since using the beach and swimming in Cancun’s seashore are the main points of staying/ visiting. We asked other visitors, locals, and hotel workers, and The beach’s messy water is common in that area. And it has never been mentioned. It misleads the visitor when booking a room. The second issue/inconvenient were mosquitoes. During our stay of 5 days and 4 nights. Only the night before the last one, outside our room was fumigated. In the room, obviously inside, we had many mosquitoes that my partner was stung multiple times in both legs (Covering them all). This issue was reported and only received repellent and cream for itching. I’m not going to complain about the mosquitoes outside, but in the room, there were tons. We got a spray and used it in the room, but the cleaning service coming often opening the doors (Front and terrace) did not do anything good for us. Third problem was the food. There was not enough variety, and Canoas was closed TWICE during our stay for dinner. Chiringito should be an option as a snack bar during the day and night. And not considered as a dinner place. Kaax in our opinion was very good, clean, and great service. If it wasn’t from Kaax, we would have checked out in the second day. No international dishes, but at lunch when the Sushi bar is open for a few hours. Everything else is Mexican. last 2 problems: 1- On Sunday, when we arrived, we had some people in a nearby room. Man dressed as woman (and friends), were making noises, banging on the windows and shouting at us to get attention. This was reported, and we were informed that until the end of the day, these people checked out. But super uncomfortable having these bothering people on our deck or when we walked towards the beach or other facilities. 2- We got useless coupons. The use Coupons- US$ 200. Personally, this is not profesional. By providing us with coupons and telling us that we can use in the hotel to get extra things that are not in the menu. But when trying to find out what we can get, just to find out that we had to pay 100-300 more of the price in US dollars. If Zoetry will not offer anything free around or at recent price, then don’t offer them at all. Example: The romantic dinner, US$ 360, where $ 60 is used in coupons. You pay $ 300 extra for the dinner. Same for the Spa and bottles of wine. Not really asking to get things free here, but at least be honest, and not trying to take advantage of you. Hotel rooms are already super expensive $600-800 per night. Aside from all these problems. Staff was very friendly. Hotel rooms and surroundings were nice too. If AT LEAST the beach was usable to go into the water, it would have been perfect. Due to the water issue, not being able to get into the ocean. ALL guest were pilled up in one swimming pool.

2nd Anniversary

My wife and I were married at this resort 2 years ago. We decided to come back this year for our anniversary. It was another great experience. The staff are awesome. Enrique, Sofie, Mario, Andres and so many others that I cannot remember their names. The concierge was very helpful and everyone was very pleasant and accommodating. This is what customer service is all about. We enjoyed several things while at the resort such as the sunset sail, shopping excursion to Peurto Morelos, the Thallasso spa, saltwater pool, musicians, trumpet , sax, guitar, harp, infinity pool and all the restaurants. We also met new friends while there -visitors and staff. We can't wait to go back.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If doing the trip to Chichen-Itza, make sure you take a beach towel with you for the 2+hour ride to and from the site. The bus could get cold or you could use the towel as a pillow for napping. A light breakfast or snack would be a good idea as well. Lunch is not until AFTER the tour of the ruins in the hot sun. Sunscreen, insect repellent, money for souvenirs, money for tips also.

5-Stars All the Way!

We've stayed at a lot of so-called 5 star resorts in Mexico and the Caribbean, but Zoetry is a cut above. From the moment we checked in it was obvious why AAA consistently awards Zoetry the prestigious 5-Diamond award. Service is perfect- personable and profession. The food is wonderful, with an emphasis on fresh organic ingredients and healthy preparations, and the cocktails are made with top shelf brands. The huge, luxurious suite was the highlight of our stay. We have never had such a stunning dead-on ocean front view from any resort room. What a delight it was to fall asleep at night to the sound of the waves lapping at the shore. The decor was lovely and unique, and everything was in terrific condition. Despite Zoetry not being an adults-only resort, there were few children on-site (and we were there over Easter weekend!). It is a quiet retreat for couples or singles who don't need any entertainment beyond each other or a good book. We are already trying to figure out when next we can return!

Peaceful getaway

This hotel exceeded all expectations! It is a great quiet resort for couples looking to relax. There is no nightlife if that is what you are looking for! The food and staff were amazing. All meals are made to order from organic produce. Service for food and drink can be found everywhere at this resort. Included is a boat trip to shopping, a sunset cruise on their 47' catamaran, yoga everyday on the dock and authentic Mayan steam room ceremony with a Shaman guide.

Luxurious GIrls Weekend

We selected this hotel for its location because we had a short weekend trip planned, and we didn't want to waste time in transit. The hotel delivered on this, and the shuttle service to/from the airport was a great plus. The hotel itself is great--the communal areas around the pool and beach (restaurants, bars) are super luxurious. The drinks are flowing and the staff are SO nice and ready to help. The saltwater pool in the Spa/Thalasso area is a MUST visit. What a relaxing spot! The food was plentiful and good, but it seemed like there was too much effort in making it "fancy" with foams and gels and molecular gastronomy kind of things. A simpler approach might have been better. The package didn't come with all the activities that we thought would be included--snorkeling, paddle boarding, and anything with the marina were an extra charge. The catamaran tour WAS included but we waited too long to book it and it was full. The yoga class was free and was WONDERFUL. Honestly, I've taken many yoga classes at home, and the instructor was BETTER than most of the teachers I have had. I'm still sore! The staff of the hotel is the shining star---they're very nice and happy to help you any way they can. I wasn't sure about the tipping policy, so we asked and some people do tip, so we did. We gave $5 for breakfast, $10-15 to the pool/beach service, which is where we also ate lunch and $10-20 for dinner. Random $2-5 were given to bellman, bartenders, whatever. I would have liked to not have to tip, but we didn't want the staff to think we didn't appreciate their help. All in all, a great hotel. I will say, though, having stayed at other 5 diamond resorts, this was on the lower end of the spectrum luxury-wise, though still VERY luxurious and nice--and it is the only all inclusive resort.

The perfect escape from daily life

My wife and I took a much needed trip to Zoetry away from our kids, work, etc. Talk about the perfect recharge in the lap of luxury. We went for 4 nights and it felt like we were away for weeks. There are plenty of available activities, although we were there to do nothing. We spent our every moment relaxing. The staff is amazing and the room is equally amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, which were not your typical all inclusive fare. No buffets or steam trays, just lots of fresh cooked delicious meals. The only negative thing I could say was that the beach was not as nice as I anticipated. It didn't matter to us as we spent most of our time at the pool. We took plenty of walks on the beach, but never went in as the tide was rough and there was lots of debris. May have been the time of year we went.

Disappointed

I was expecting great service but I was very disappointed. The staff seems to be running always but very ineffectively. We never had a meal which lasted less than one hour(including breakfast). Sometimes it took 2.5 hours to be served. The rooms are dated. Towels in the rooms used to be white now they are dirty greysh. The drinks at the pool are very diluted. If you do not tip continuously nobody pays any attention to you. Front desk manager Sergio very unhelpful, gruf and argumentative. Beds are very hard and hard to get on due to heigh. I am 5'4 and had to get a stool to get on the bed. Mattress in our room was torn on the side. Overall not worth all the additional expense.

Our Zoetry Stay

Beautiful resort. The staff is fantastic and leave you wanting for nothing. The rooms are beautiful. The best part being the totally private terrace. We stayed in the Bangkok. The beds are on the hard side though. The only improvement I would have to suggest would be to vary the menu more. For a seven day stay the choices became a little boring. This is not an adults only resort. There were a few children when we stayed. One was below us in the resort and we could hear him cry daily. That was a negative and might make me choose an adults only next time.
