Secrets Silversands Riviera Cancun - Adults Only All Inclusive

While the hotel is very nice, it is not a 5 star hotel. We enjoyed our stay very much but we were spoiled from our stay at La Blanc. All in all it was a nice stay but we wouldn't rush back. The public bathrooms were not well serviced. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were old and in need of refreshing. The resort is weathered. The beach was just ok. The food was very good for an all inclusive but the little extras that make a hotel luxury class were missing.

As a single female traveler, the staff were very sociable, friendly, and never let me feel lonely. At no time did I ever feel unsafe. Many of the other travelers were couples or in groups. I did see a few other singles as well, so I never did feel totally out of place. I regret that I only stayed 3 nights. I think a stay of 5 to 6 nights would have been perfect and would have allowed me to enjoy all of the amenities and restaurants, and would have provided more opportunities to meet others at the social gatherings and events had I been able to attend. I took the Amstar tour to Chichen Itza - amazing tour. Very safe, very comfortable, but really is an all day commitment. Well worth the ticket price. The spa treatments were fantastic. No complaints there. The spa amenities, which I didn't realize, are co-ed so that reduced the level of relaxation and required wearing a bathing suit at all times, including the sauna and steam room. Three breakfasts at the World Cafe were great each day. I only experienced one lunch, which was satisfactory.Two dinners via room service rated anywhere from not so good, to okay. I did have one excellent dinner at the ocean side restaurant serving seafood. Upgraded wines and food items are available for extra purchase, which I have to admit, I took advantage of on that night when I just wanted an excellent fresh caught lobster dinner and terrific bottle of fine wine :) All in all, very comfortable, very clean, very safe, very entertaining.

Not only was this hotel everything we would ever want, the people there were wonderful. They do everything above and beyond just regular service. They made it a point to make sure we had everything we wanted and that we were having a good time. No one pressured you to do anything you didnt want to. There were a number of different activities to do each day and plenty of entertainment. We can wait to return next year.

We were here for 10 nights and had a great time. The pools, food, drinks, and staff (mostly) were amazing. The glaring exception to this was the house keeping service. We got turn down about 1/2 of the time, and the housekeeping was sloppy (removing towels and robes but not replacing them) and though we tipped $5 a night anyhow, it was not what we've come to expect from the Secrets brand. Also... as a warning, avoiding building 5 and 6 (as well as a portion of 4) as they are directly next to a sewage treatment plan, and can smell pretty gross. We spent our first night in Building 5 because there were no other options and while it did not smell in the room itself, the odor was strong on the balcony and in the corridors. Our new room in building 2 was perfect, nice and quite, but still close to everything. We had a regular room with a view of the jungle and small pool for the first floor rooms of our building. We don't spend too much time in the room, so no need to upgrade to an ocean view for us. The service by the pool was generally great (there was a day or two when it slow, but hey you're in paradise, and the bars are close by) and there were lots of fun frozen drinks to be had. The dinners were almost all fantastic, my favorite was the french place, the french onion soup was the best. Other notables were the Italian place with a great portobella mushroom appetizer. One place I would skip if I visited again would be Oceana, it was not bad but just sort of mediocre. The shows were entertaining (expect for the comedic magician, he was the worse). Overall, a great place.

My girlfriend and I went for an 8 night stay. the room was great. The food was great. The staff was exceptional and the amenities were fantastic. The beach was a little rough, likely due to Hurricane Sandy, but beyond those first few days the beach cleared and was picturesque. Whatever you wanted, whenever you wanted and with a smile throughout. Frankly, the "best" room, or the ocean view was not necessary, because all but sleeping and napping was spent at the pool or on the beach. If you wish to be in your room, then I suggest an ocean (or partial ocean) view room. More modern than a lot of the other resorts we considered.

This place is awesome. If you are a beach person They are working on making the beach better. It is the only downfall to this resort. The staff, hotel and experience more than makeup for the beach. I reccomend it to anyone at anytime!!

We had a great time at this place. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Service was excellent. The food was over the top at all of the restaurants. The grounds were kept clean. The ocean is a little rocky and uneven, but there are many nice pools to swim in.

The staff was top notch. They were always friendly in offering assistance and advice. Make it a point to know Cruz of the entertainment team!

I visited Secrets Silversands 3 years ago and absolutely loved it. However, this time we were slightly disappointed with the dinner service. The only restaurant we liked was Himitsu and that was just OK. The breakfast and lunch options were excellent; however, I think it is imperative for them to refocus on dinner. I had a group of four and all four of us left pretty much everything on our plates at dinner time. As last time, the entertainment and staff were excellent.

OMG secrets silver sands could not get better!! It was an amazing experience... Food excellent staff great!
